The autumn days seemed to come much faster than Taehyung could feel it in his bones. The rustling of poplar leaves under the breath of the autumn wind became deeply rooted in his being.

While sitting on the same chair, looking at his desert rose, he realized that two opposite truths are by no means mutually exclusive. Excluding one or the other seemed like it would cripple reality, impoverish moments and deprive the whole life of its meaning.

Therefore, he allowed his thoughts to wander a little further, to a desert, which he had dreamed of for a long time. Looking at the flower in front of him, he remembered how every moment made sense then.

The wind blew a little stronger, Tae tightened his jacket and, getting up from the chair, stared at the bonsai tree with a flower once more.

- I think I will have to move you again. It will be winter soon, my rose... another winter... - the man whispered. He caressed the plant with his gaze and then headed to the house.

- Dad, do you want to help me with my homework? - came the voice of the boy who called from the stairs to the man who entered the house.

Tae looked at his son with a smile, who had grown up so quickly that he almost didn't even notice how fast time had passed.

The boy was sitting on one of the stair of the big family house petting a small dog.

- Of course, you just have to let a dog rest a bit, it's still a puppy. - Tannie accepted his father's hand and they immediately went to boy's room upstairs. The little dog remained on that stair, his stomach full, and fell asleep at the same moment.

The steps to the room were slow and silent. Silence reigned for some time.

- Did you take your medicine? - asked the father.

Tannie nodded and then looked into Taehyung's eyes and gave him a smile that could melt the coldest mountain.

- Good boy. Now tell me what your homework is about?

- Maths. - Tannie said and rolled his eyes, when he settled down at his desk in the room. Tae pulled a chair to the table and sat next to his son. He took the book in his hands and stared at the mathematical equation.

- Um... - he muttered thoughtfully, but his thoughts were quickly interrupted when the younger spoke.

- If you don't know, dad, mom will help me. She will ask her professor friend to explain to me. You know I don't love him and I'd rather you show me... - the boy spoke with pursed lips, remembering how the last time he was at his mother's, she asked her friend to explain to him.

Tannie didn't like it.

The boy didn't like that his parents had been divorced for more than a year.

He didn't like mom's new friend. That man was very arrogant and didn't want to play with him.

Taehyung noticed changes in the boy every time Marissa brought him to spend the weekend with him, so Tae got a small dog, which they both named Bam. That little gesture made the boy immensely happy and helped him a lot in overcoming the sadness of his parents' separation.

- I know you don't like Kai, but he is part of your mom's life now. And you don't have to love him, but respect her choice. Your mom deserved to be happy. And you know what will make her even happier? -Taehyung asked looking at his son.
