Chapter 31

Miku's POV:

Everyone claps as Kay and Val finish doing dance moves they made up to the Happy Birthday song that was originally for me, but is used tonight for the quadruplets.

They bow and hop down from the stage as we all walk upstairs to eat and dance. I find Rin and jog over to her, and she's beaming with excitement. "Having fun so far?" I ask, and she nods, still smiling ridiculously. I laugh and throw my arm around her shoulder as we walk up the crowded basement stairs.

Everybody scrambles to find a spot around the beautiful 3 tier cake sitting on the dining table. MEIKO steps forward with a lighter, hopefully to light the cake, and motions for Big Al to turn of the lights. He does, and we all start singing. MEIKO lights the candles while we are, and bows to the four VOCALOIDs and steps back for them.

The Kagamine's clasp hands and blow out the candles on the count of 3, and everyone cheers quite loudly. Rin starts smiling uncontrollably again as the lights turn back on.

Someone, I have no idea who, turns the music on and I somehow get absorbed in it and start dancing.

The smell of something foul wakes me the next day. I am about to yawn, feeling sore from last night, when I smell it. Body odor. I need a bath, and I need a bath now.

Without waking Luka and Rin, I get up and walk down the hall to the bathroom. We moved Aikae to my brother's room (which I wasn't very happy about), so I didn't have to worry about stinking up the boy's room.

I reach the bathroom and knock on the door, hearing that it wasn't occupied. I walk in and start the bath, ridding my body of my pajamas. I take out my pigtails and run my hands through my long hair, seeing it has gotten longer. I shrug and step into the warm bath tub, pouring in the soap and leaning back.

I reach over and start a playlist of some of my favorite songs and hear a knock on the door. I sink down a little in the bathtub so my...chest is covered and call, "Come in!" I call, and the door opens revealing Luka. She looks a little startled, but shakes it off. (Heheheheheh -Kay) "We're leaving soon to record Acute. So... hurry up!" And with that, she closes the door.

I smile to myself and do as she says.

I poof into my black butterfly dress and walk out of my room, waving goodbye to Rin. I smooth down my skirt and walk down the hall to see KAITO and Luka in their outfits matching mine. "Ready to go?" KAITO asks, and I nod.

We all walk down the stairs and I pull out my phone, texting the director for this music video, Saki, that we are on our way.

Luka looks over my shoulder and asks, "Whatcha doin'?" I shrug and answer her. "Texting Saki that we are on our way." She nods and looks back up.

I put away my phone and reach the bottom of the driveway, stopping short when I hear a cough. Me and Luka both look back and see KAITO leaning on his car. "Coming?" Luka asks. He shakes his head no.

"I don't want to take the train." is all he says. Luka and I groan and walk back over to him as he smirks.

He opens the passenger door for me and I step inside as he steps back to open the other door for Luka. I put on my seatbelt KAITO closes my door and Luka's and walks to the other side of the car, getting inside as well.

I start to make a promise to myself as the car starts moving. I will not get jealous. No matter what, I will not get jealous. Acute is basically a love triangle between me Luka and KAITO. The short/paraphrased version of the story is:

Me and Luka are friends

Me and KAITO are dating

Luka meets KAITO

They fall in love

KAITO loves me and Luka

KAITO cheats on me with Luka

I find out and commit suicide

KAITO finds out and commits suicide

Luka mourns for eternity

Great, right? I know. Saki showed us an MMD version of the dance/music video and told us to memorize it a while ago, so we were pretty much prepared and all we had to do was record the chorus and the end poses. It shouldn't talk longer than an hour, so I guess it wasn't so bad.

But we'll just have to see.
