Chapter 36

Miku's POV:

I watch as GUMI does poker face onstage. Kay didn't want to make dancemoves for that song, so we recorded GUMI doing 3 of the parts for the 4 person dance, and put them on the screen as holograms. The other GUMI was the real one, actually doing the dance.

I hum the song quietly to myself and lean on KAITO, who was enjoying some of the food from another room. "Tired?" he asked, and I yawn in reply. He laughs and wraps his arm around me. "We have to record more Acute tomorrow." he says, and I nod. "I can see you've been getting jealous of me and Luka." I finally reply. "A little bit. I'll get over it though." "You better get over it, young lady." he jokes, and we both laugh.

He kisses the top of my head and I watch Rin appear onstage and do Melancholic. The next song was Tugai Kogarashi. Kay only made up dance moves for the beginning because there was a lot of running, and the stage wasn't big enough for that. And just my luck, she chose the MEIKO x KAITO ver. I can see why.

She told me she wasn't going to change the songs just for me, after I pleaded with her. I finally gave up and left her alone. She was younger than me, 14 years old, but she was in charge of the music and dances. Val was in charge of the venues we went to, and the lights. She didn't have a very big job, but she didn't seem to mind.

Kay also told me why she chose the MEIKO x KAITO ver. She likes me and KAITO in a relationship more than she likes them, but she chose that version because it was the most popular and fans seemed to like it the most.

KAITO shifts in his seat, jolting me from my thoughts. "I have to go now." he whispers, and I nod. I sit up and he tosses the remains of his food in the trash. He kisses my cheek and waves. Rin finishes her song and the fans cheer, just like they do every time. This was a long concert. Almost 3 hours long.

KAITO and MEIKO run onstage, changing into their outfits when they get in their spots. I stand next to Kay, who was all professional with her clipboard in her hand and pencil tucked behind her ear. "You'll get over it when you're doing Cantarella with him." she tells me as I look longingly at the pair. "Really? You'd do that?" I exclaim, and she nods. "I thought it was kind of mean of me to force you to watch him and MEIKO do a song together, and not do one with KAITO, so I changed the ver. of Cantarella." she smiles. I hug her.

"Thanks." I say. "No problem. I'd want to see you with KAITO onstage anyways. After all, you're my favorite pair." I blush and look back at the stage. They were at the faster parts of the song now, and the crowd seemed to be enjoying it.

Kay told me and Len beforehand that when he does Dream Eating Monochrome, I'll be behind the screen with a light shining from behind me, to make it look like I'm in the window like I was in the video. But that was after MEIKO and Luka do Colorful x Sexy, which was next. Then was Monochrome, then Snowman, and then me and KAITO do Cantarella.

Colorful x Sexy finishes, and I run behind the screen, where I am supposed to stand. I wait for a while, and then the light behind me turns on, signaling my "part" in the song. Well, not really. I don't sing or dance very much. You get what I mean, right?

Kay kept the dancemoves for this song, because she really liked them and didn't want to change very many songs. I do my part and then move back as the light turns off. Then I return back in my window and do my second part (the one where I "kiss" Len) and the light shuts off again. I'm guessing you know what happens next.

I run out from behind the curtain while the lights are off and get in my position for Cantarella. I hear KAITO quietly run on and stand in his position too. We dance to Cantarella and the crowd cheers for the tenth time. I can't believe we have only done ten songs so far. It feels like at least twenty.

When Cantarella finishes, I do Yellow, Romeo and Cinderella, and The Snow White Princess is and run offstage so Len and Rin can do Kay's dance moves for Remote Control. I sit down next to GUMI, breathless, and she laughs. "It's not funny! Why do I have so many songs?!" I groan, and she replies. "'Cause, you're the most famous of all of us. Enjoy it while it lasts, sister." I laugh and shrug. "I guess so. But can't I not enjoy it right now?" I say. "Go for it." GUMI replies, taking another sip of her soda.
