Miku's POV:

"MEIKO, can you help me with this?" I call from the porch in front of the house, the huge Christmas tree standing in front of me. MEIKO groans in response. "Luka, can you help me with this?" I ask. "Sure," Luka says, coming outside.

I let the tree fall so Luka can hold the top of it while I hold the bottom. "On the count of three," I say. "One...two...three!" and on cue, we lift the tree and start to drag it inside.

GUMI stands in the living room, yelling out directions so we know where the tree stand is. After about 2 minutes, we finally find it. Me and Luka drop the tree in the stand, splashing water everywhere. GUMI hands me the tree skirt, and I put it around the base of the tree.

MEIKO and Rin come up from the basement, each holding a bucket of ornaments. They set them on the couch and we all run over to grab some.

After hours of arguing of where to put the decorations, we were done. It was 2:00 am. Rin flops on the couch. "I'm pooped." she groans, and we all nod to agree. "Well, I'm going to bed. You guys coming?" GUMI says, and we run upstairs to follow her.

Just as I was about to open the door to my room, Luka stops me. "Aikae's in there, remember?" she says. "Oh, yeah. Thanks, Luka! Goodnight!" And I run down the hall.

I hear the door to Luka, Rin, and Aikae's (Well, my) room close just as I slowly open KAITO's door. Len stirrs, but doesn't wake up. Neither does KAITO. I walk inside, closing the door behind me.

I poof into my Rabbit pajamas and quietly slip into bed with KAITO. His arms wrap around me, showing me he's awake. I shiver from the cold and snuggle closer to him. I fall asleep much faster than usual.

***

I wake up at about 7:00, but not from excitement. Someone was singing. Obviously a human. Aikae. I slowly get up and walk down the hallway, towards the voice.

(The song Aikae is singing/her voice is at the top of the page. And I do not own the song/the cover. :) -Kay)

I notice that it was coming from the end of the hall, so that's where I walk. As I get closer, I notice the voice was coming from Mikuo's room. Tears spring in the back of my eyes, once again, but I just shove them away. The best I can, at least.

I quietly open the door and see Aikae facing away from the door, at the window.

She was singing into a microphone that wasn't plugged in, and she wasn't trying to be quiet. That didn't bother me. She had a beautiful voice.

I let her finish, and then I start complimenting her. "That was beautiful," I say, and she jumps and turns around, startled. "Oh. It's just you, Miku. Thank you."

she says.

"Who's room is this? I could've slept here instead of your room, you know," "It's my brother, Mikuo's. He died when I was about 14. I never got over thinking it was my fault," "Oh... I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked." Aikae says, and she starts walking towards the door. "No! I mean, no it's fine. You didn't know. You know English?" I say.

Aikae nods. "Mhm. I study it day and night. I think I almost know the whole language. I always wanted to move to America, but I never had the money. Not that I really got any, anyways," "Oh," I say. "Did you find any jobs you like yet?"

Aikae nods again. "It's a job at the 100 yen store. I don't start until after Christmas time. I might miss the twins' birthday, though,"

"Oh, they're not twins. Quadruplets. Rin, Len, Lenka, and Rinto," Aikae looks a little surprised at this, but her look quickly fades. "Let's go start Christmas," Is all she says.
