Miku's POV:
I mentally groan after opening my eyes, remembering that we had a concert to sing today. In 2 hours. And I had to sing From Y to Y. Why am I so bothered by that, you ask? It's because it is -was- Mikuo's favorite song of mine. Let's just hope I don't break down on stage today. After another five minutes of staring at Rin's bunk above me, I get up and walk to the bathroom.
I shower quickly and poof into my regular outfit. I walk out of the bathroom, deciding to brush my teeth later so I can eat, and walk downstairs, seeing that most of us were up. I see Luka helping MEIKO with breakfast, so I sit down next to KAITO on the couch.
We usually watch the news in the morning, so that is what was on TV. "Morning." KAITO says when I sit down. I yawn in reply, and he laughs. "Nervous?" he asks me, and I nod my head. I told him the night before why I didn't want to sing tonight, and he understood. But didn't help my problem, sadly.
We watch TV for another half an hour, and MEIKO calls us for breakfast. Everyone runs to find a spot on the couch (saving a spot for whoever was cooking, which was usually MEIKO or Luka) or the 2 dining tables. I ended up sitting at a dining table with KAITO, Rin, Len, GUMI, and IA.
Luka comes by and sets down three plates, each overflowing with bacon, eggs, or pancakes. I wasn't feeling very hungry today so, unlike everyone else, I grabbed a little food. Not that there was much left after Len and KAITO got a hold of it, anyway.
We eat quickly and I jog up the stairs to the bathroom, where I brush my teeth and straighten my hair. I sigh and walk out so the others can wash up. I go into my room and pack a purse with my phone, earbuds, charger, etc.
I scoop up Hachune and put her on my head, exiting my room and going back down the stairs. Almost everyone was down there, I noticed. The night before, Mayu told me that Kay and Val were hosting the show together, and she already made them the cutest outfits.
Everyone shows up not too soon later, and we all walk outside to see 5 limos parked out front. There was a lot of us, so I guess this was the better option. 10 people walk to each limo and get inside. I sit down in between Luka and KAITO. Not everyone came, and that was good because about 50 people did. That worked out well.
I ended up riding with:
Luka
KAITO
RinLen
GUMI
Kay
Val
Gakupo
MEIKOIt was nice and cozy in the limo, as everyone was squished together. I'd rather ride a bus there.
We get there after a while and step out one by one. A security guard opens the back gate for us, and we all step in and follow him to the back door of the auditorium. He opens it and we step inside. I walk over to a corner and there's a screen with a bunch of beanbags around it, just like the last auditorium we performed at. There's nothing exciting on the screen, just commercials and some other show that was on before the concert.
I walk to the right and into a big room with tables filled with food and drinks around the edges of the room. My mouth waters at the sight of the leeks, and I leave before I faint. I hear an announcement that the show will be starting in 5 minutes, and I almost panic. Good thing From Y to Y wasn't the first song. As always, World is Mine was. From Y to Y was after Meltdown, which was the fourth song.
Soon enough, I run out to the stage while the lights are off and sing World is Mine for the 339483948394792187234093rd time. I wait for Luka to appear and she does, and we do Magnet and World's end Dancehall.
We soon run off the stage and let Rin do Meltdown. I sit down next to KAITO on one of the beanbags and notice Rin is almost done. "I don't think I can do this," I mumble to KAITO. "You'll do fine. And if you don't, so? People will still love you. And if they don't, there is over a hundred of us that still will." His words encourage me, but it doesn't slow down Rin's song.
Soon enough it ends, and KAITO gives me a hug good luck. I walk onto the stage and the music starts playing. The first minute of the song goes by fine, but soon enough, the tears that are threatening to spill over, finally do. Everyone cheers me on once they see what's happening, but their words sound like they are submerged in water.
"I can't do this." I whisper into the mic. "I'm so sorry, everyone." and I run off the stage. I run through the hallways in the backstage area and I don't stop. I don't stop until I can't go on any further. I hear Kay finishing the song on stage for me, and I smile. But it doesn't last long.
Luka comes around the corner and sees me crying. She crouches down next to me and holds me close, whispering encouraging words. But it doesn't help. I know it will be okay, that this won't last, but why am I still crying?
Am I guilty, sad, mad? I couldn't tell. Maybe I was all of those things. Maybe I wasn't. I finally get up and wipe my eyes, followed by Luka. "You okay?" she finally asks, and I sniffle and nod. I throw on a smile and walk confidently out to the stage.
Ayyyyyy look who's not dead! Sorry I haven't been updating. I was lazy and focusing on other things. But here you go! Chapter 34! I decided to alternate stories for now, which I know won't be easy, but I'll try. I had this idea in my mind for a while, but it was today that I decided to actually post it. So.... enjoy! -Kay
