Miku's POV:
I run a hand through my long hair and flop back onto my bed. It was currently 2:00 am, and I had just gotten into bed from the concert. I was pooped. I sigh again and get up. I open the door and groggily walk to the bathroom to try to do something. I was also bored.
All of a sudden, I feel my head slam into something hard. A chest. No, not just any chest. KAITO's chest. I jump back.
"Sorry." I mumble. "What are you doing up? It's 2 am." He asks. "I think I could say the same for you."
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Pleeeease?" I plead.
"You'll laugh."
"No I won't. I promise."
KAITO sighs. He knows I don't break promises. "I had a bad dream." I don't feel like laughing. All I can do is stare at him. "Go ahead. Laugh." "Why would I do that?" I ask. "Because... a 20 year old shouldn't be scared of nightmares." "It just depends on what it's on." I say. "What happened, somebody took your ice cream?" I joke, adding a laugh. Then I see the stern look on his face. "Uh, sorry." I whisper
Then, I hear a faint sound. Almost like breathing. Or snoring. Hachune must have been sleeping on my head.
"It's okay." He says. "Actually, it had something to do with you." It is then that I noticed blush forming on his cheeks. I'm willing to bet I looked the same as him. "What happened?" I whisper. "Nee, oshiete yo. [Come on, tell me.]" He laughs a little at the alice in musicland reference.
"Zatsune and some other people, faceless, kidnapped you. I don't want to talk about this anymore. So, why are you up?" I don't answer right away. The information is still processing in my mind. Me being kidnapped is a nightmare for him. Well, if it was anyone else, it wouldn't be a good dream either.
"I couldn't sleep. I'm really tired, but I can't sleep. I'm bored." He sighs. "Me too. Wanna see what I do on nights like these?" I can't help but agree to go with him.
***
"We're here." I hear. I jolt awake. I look outside and see a BBQ resturaunt. I laugh. "Really?" He knows I'm not the type for BBQ. "I knew you'd love it." He jokes, and turns off the car. He gets out and opens my door for me. I mutter a quick thank you and get out of the car.
The fresh air feels like a blanket wrapping around my body. I could sleep out here if I wanted to.
"C'mon." He says, and starts walking to what I assume is the enterance. It's hard to tell. I follow him inside, surprised to see a few people still here. "Table for 2." He says to the lady behind the counter. "Follow me." The girl picks up 2 menus and leads us to a table out back. There is a band playing some music from America. Country, I assume.
The girl offers us a smile. "Hi, my name is Debby and I will be taking care of you this morning. Can I get you anything to drink first?" "I'll have Tea." KAITO says. "Me too." I agree.
"Okay. I will get those right to you." Debby smiles again, and walks away.
"So..." I say, trying to spark conversatin between us. "When you're bored at night, you go to a BBQ resuraunt at 2 am and listen to people playing what I assume is Country music?" "That's right." He laughs.
"So, I've been meaning to talk to you about something." He says. "Yeah?" I say, eager to know. "Well, I want you to know that-" All of a sudden, I hear Debby's cheery voice behind me. "Here are you drinks." She says. "Are you ready to order? Or do you need more time to decide?" "No. I think we're ready." He says, stealing a glance at me. I nod.
"For you, ma'am?" She asks, notepad and pen ready. "I'll just have a um... cheeseburger and fries." "Okay. And for you, sir?" Debby says, turning to KAITO. "BBQ pork sandwhich, please." He says. "Okay!" She exclaims. Then, I notice her staring at my head.
Oh crud. Hachune must still be up there. Debby notices what she's doing and says, "Will that be all?" Me and KAITO both nod, and she walks away.
As soon as she leaves, KAITO bursts into laughter. I put my hands on my hips. "It's not funny! I didn't know she was still here!" I exclaim, reaching up to hold Hachune.
He coughs. "So... where were we?" he asks. "You we're about to tell me something." I reply. "Oh right. Well... I like you, Miku." Did I hear him correctly? I must be dreaming. Or maybe I have cotton in my ears. Or I might just be delusional and tired. But I don't feel tired. "I'm sorry." I say. "What did you say?"
He repeats the words in Japanese, slowly. "Watashi wa, anatagasuki." I almost drop my fork. "Seriously?" I gasp. "I know, I know. I'm 20, your 16. It's perverted, I know." "No, not that. You like me?" He nods.
Someone call the fire department, because someone is about to faint.
