The Adventures of VOCALOID

Chapter 13

Miku's POV:

I jog outside, the cold air hitting my like the train I am running to. Forgot my coat. Oh well. I take my card out of my pocket and swipe it, walking inside of the train. I sit down in front right as the train starts moving. I am going to get stopped a lot. I know it.

I arrive at across the street from the mall I was looking for. I can't get Yuki a Kaai Yuki version of Hachune. I know that. What else would she want? She already has a phone. I perk up. I know! They have plenty of VOCALOID phone cases! I'll get one with Kiyoteru, Miki, and Yuki on it!

I spot the store I want and walk inside. I know that Yuki has a iPhone 5C. I spot the aisle with phone cases and walk over to it, immediatly spotting the one I want. It was perfect.

I walk up to the counter and, of course, the girl recognizes me. I try not to be too mean. "Oh my gosh! Miku! What can I do for you?" She says. "Can you wrap this up for me? It's Yuki's birthday today and I forgot to get her, Miki, and Kiyoteru a present," "Of course!" She replies, and reaches under the counter and pulls out tissue paper and a bag.

"Will that be all?" "Can you put a 500 yen gift card for Target in there, too?" I ask, and she tosses it in. "600 yen, please." She says, and I hand her my card. She swipes it, and hands it back to me. I take it along with the bag, and walk to my next stop. The glasses store.

Kiyoteru was always complaining about how he looked too nerdy. So I knew just what to get for him. I've been seeing these glasses that look like sunglasses, but have another purpose too. They are also regular glasses! and they had a light built in it for reading in the dark.

I spot the glasses on a shelf near the back, and run up to them. I pick them up and glance at the tag. I sigh. Kiyoteru better thank me for this. They were 5000 yen. Again, I pay for the glasses and walk out.

Lastly, to Build a Bear. (Idk if they have that in Japan or not. Deal with it. -Kay) I knew that ever since Miki was young, she wanted a Build a Bear. She always told me what her dream one would look like. Looks like paying attention to her annoying story paid off.

She always said it would be a bunny. A white one, with blue eyes. Luckily, they had that. I picked up the first one I saw, and walk over to where the clothes were. I tried to remember what she said when we were kids.

-Flashback-

"It would be a white bunny. With beautiful blue eyes. And it would be wearing a white skirt, with a pattern just like mine. And a white tanktop to match. The shoes would be black combat boots. Not too ugly, and not too uncomfortable."

I roll my eyes. "Miki, I promise that one day, for your birthday, I will get you one. Only if you promise to shut up about it for now." She laughs a little. "Okay," Miki says, and gets up. We both lock pinkies.

-Flashback over-

I sigh. Today was the day I fulfilled my promise. I spotted a white skirt with pink and blue stripes at the bottom, with a matching tanktop. Close enough, I think, and pick up the clothes. I spot the beautiful black boots she was telling me about, and pick them up, too. I walk over to the counter, where a girl with beautiful black hair in a ponytail sits. "Are you ready to dress and stuff your bear?" She asks, and I nod. "Follow me," The girl, Jenna, her name tag says, gets up and leads me to a giant machine filled with white cotton.

She holds out her hand, asking for the bear, and I hand it to her. She covers a tube at the end of the machine with a hole in the back of the bunny, and starts pumping a lever. The bunny magically comes to life, it seems.

She pulls the bunny off, closes the velcro, and she puts she clothes on my well, Miki's, bunny like she has done this a thousand times. Then again, she probably has.

Jenna hands it to me and walks back behind the counter. "200 yen, please," I hand her the money. "Thank you for coming." She calls, as I leave the store. I forgot to ask for a bad. Oh well, we have plenty at home.

I pull my phone out and text Luka.

Coming home, get Yuki, Kiyoteru, and Miki out of the room. -M

I wait a little with no response, until my phone buzzes right when I get on the train. I sit down and pull my phone back out.

Yuki already went to bed. Miki and Kiyo are upstairs, not suspecting a thing. I hope. The living room's all yours until further notice. -L

I open the door to the house, poking my head in, looking for signs of Miki or Kiyoteru. Finding none, I walk in and set the presents on the table. I put a post-it note on both gifts, saying they're from me, and put Miki's gift in a bag.

I collapse on the couch, exhausted.

I see a flash of blue in the corner of my eye, and look towards the stairs. KAITO. He sits near my feet, on the edge of the couch. "Tired?" he asks, and I nod. He gets up and, to my surprise, picks me up, one arm near my shoulders, and one under my knees. "Where are we going?" I ask. "To bed," He answers, and carries me upstairs, towards my room. He opens the door carefully, and drops me on the bed.

I poof into my pjs and watch him as he closes the door and walks over to my bed. He lays down, facing me, and strokes my cheek. "I've been waiting until I am one hundred percent sure to tell you this but," he starts, "I think I'm in love with you," "That's smart of you,"I say. "What, are you forty five percent sure?" "Oh, I think I'm at ninety nine point nine percent," he replies. "What will make you point one percent sure?" I ask.

He bites his lip, and leans in to kiss me. His hand still doesn't move from my cheek, and he sets his other hand on my waist.

KAITO pulls back, puts his forehead against mine and whispers, "Now I'm sure,"

I feel like with the more time I spend with him, the more I realize it's okay to accidentaly sigh in his ear as he kisses my neck, or laugh and his fingers brush over my stomach, where I am most ticklish.

In the moments before I drift off to sleep, I hear him whisper, "I love you, Miku," And I would say it back, if I wasn't so tired.
