Evangeline was shuffled cop to cop, shifting and steading herself on the couch - tired, frustrated, angered, annoyed, hurt, scared.
She was feeling all the emotions at once. The news of Agent Liam Parker's death had hit her hard, and she couldn't hold back the ache in her heart. The time of his arrival at the hospital was late, and he had already lost a significant amount of blood.
Rhea tried to remain composed, yet couldn't erase Liam's face from her mind. Being an unknown person, he gave up his life for the girls.
She took the responsibility to inform her colleague, Nisha Kapoor, about the incident and asked her to handle the case until the Royal Family's Counsellors arrived.
Evangeline provided her statement, stating that she witnessed the driver exiting the car while wearing a black mask and then fleeing the scene. The image lingered in her mind, a haunting reminder of the anonymous perpetrator responsible for Liam's death.
The cops told them that the cameras of the street as well as above the Princess's house had been tempered with. Somebody made sure for the incident not to be recorded.
However, both Evangeline and Rhea mentioned that they did not manage to see the car's license plate number.
News traveled fast and the whole world found out about the attack. The New Yorkers criticized the Police Authority, blaming them for not being able to protect the Princess. They feared that if the Royal Family member was not safe, what chance did they have on the streets.
Evangeline and Rhea's friends called and showed their support. People of New York and around the world complemented and applauded for Agent Liam Parker's bravery.
Rebecca had arrived and she took care of Evie and Rhea and provided them with food and drinks. She was at their service as mentioned in her contract to work.
Theodore was on his way to New York. The Princess ensured she was all right, but he didn't care. He had to see his sister and make sure by himself.
Evangeline was supposed to attend a meeting with a celebrity couple for their engagement party at Aledore. But it has to be postponed. The celebrity couple showed their support for The Princess and Rhea on social media.
The cops continued asking questions if the girls had any rivalry with someone or if they found something unusual in past days. Rhea told them about the shadow following them the morning.
Once the cops left, the girls rested on the couch as Rebecca prepared coffee for them. Evie was mentally and physically exhausted while Rhea was emotionally out of order. Both had to complete their work.
