Paris.

A city of dreams, of romance, of artistry, a city of hope and of love. Evangeline had been here before many times, and it was a place that held a special corner in her heart. But this time, Paris had a different role to play in her life. It was her refuge, her sanctuary, a place where she could escape the chaos and find solace.

Her chosen hotel, a quaint boutique establishment nestled in the heart of the city, greeted her with a warm welcome. The concierge, who had come to recognize her over the years, offered a friendly smile as he guided her inside the hotel. The receptionist welcomed her with a warm smile and handed her the key card to her familiar room.

Once inside, Evangeline let out a sigh of relief. The room was a haven of luxury and comfort, a place where she could finally let her guard down and breathe. She walked to the window, drew back the heavy drapes, and gazed out at the city below.

The Eiffel Tower bathed in the soft hues of twilight, stood proudly in the distance, its illuminated frame a testament to the enduring spirit of this city.

She sent a message to her mother, letting her know that she had arrived safely in Paris and checked in the hotel. The Queen wanted to send someone along with her, the first choice was Damien himself, but Evie stood against the idea. She told her mother that she wanted to be alone for a few days.

After a refreshing bath that washed away the fatigue of travel, Evangeline slipped into a simple yet elegant outfit, one that allowed her to blend in with the fashionable Parisians.

She knew exactly where she wanted to go – the charming café that had become her home in the heart of this city.

As she stepped out of the hotel, the cool Parisian breeze greeted her, carrying with it the faint scent of spring blossoms. The streets were alive with the chatter of locals and the footsteps of fellow travelers, all moving to the rhythm of the city.

With each step, Evangeline felt herself shedding the weight of her responsibilities and worries. As she turned a corner and saw the familiar façade of the café, a warm smile graced her lips.

The entrance was adorned with potted flowers, their vibrant colors a stark contrast to the muted tones of the city. She pushed open the café's door, and the soft jingle of a bell announced her arrival.

The interior was as she remembered – cozy, dimly lit, with small wooden tables adorned with fresh flowers in glass vases. The aroma of roasted coffee beans and the gentle hum of hushed conversations filled the air.

Evangeline chose a corner table by the window, a spot that had become her favorite over the years. It offered a perfect vantage point to watch the world go by, to sip her coffee, and to lose herself in the pages of a book.
