Heartstopper vampire

Outside

Nick was amazed how quickly even an extreme situation could become normal. It had barely been three days since he came to the vampire school and already things were becoming routine. The lessons, the apartment, his roommate.

They would always eat together, it was their strongest ritual. Three meals a day, breakfast lunch and dinner. It was because of Charlies eating disorder, he never had snacks and wouldn't eat without nick there. Nick always had a portion double the size of Charlies, if they were the same Charlie would only eat half.

Nick had bought a bunch of stuff for Charlie online that had been quickly delivered. New clothes, books, a phone and laptop. Though they had to be carful with devices as Dracula closely monitored internet and calls on the island. Charlie couldn't contact his family, not that he wanted to, they had kicked him out for being gay, leaving him on the street where Dracula snatched him.

Charlie often spent a lot of time sitting by the window, absorbing the sun.  He had been locked in windowless rooms for all of his incarceration, some sick psychological torture  Dracula used to break people. Nick hadn't asked but guessed Ben had also kept Charlie locked away.

On the third day when he returned from school he found Charlie looking out the window longingly.

"Do you want to go outside?" Nick asked. On previous days Charlie had been too overwhelmed and scared but today Charlie nodded.

Charlie was still mostly non verbal, they texted a lot even when in the same room, but nick managed to get a few whispers out of him each day.

Charlie put on his new coat, but paused and took a deep breath when he approached the door. When nick opened it Charlie fixed himself to nicks side, holding onto his arm tightly and pulling in close.

Nick was momentarily shocked, this was the first time they had touched. He had taken great pains never to even brush against Charlie, always giving him plenty of personal space, not wanting to bring up past trauma.

But Charlie must have gotten comfortable with nick from living with him.
