Consequences?

Nick was surprised that his attack  on Ben did not have bigger consequences. He had beaten Ben within an inch of his life. But extreme violence was a sporadic part of vampire life. And uncontrolled bloodlust episodes were to be expected in young vampires.

The school had procedures and handled the incident like someone had broken a window. ben was taken a way to heal and Nick was sent to the headmistresses office. The other students would certainly gossip but were not shocked by the incident.

"What happened?" Asked the headmistress, more irritated than angry.

Nick sat before her holding Charlies hand, he had refused to let go ever since the attack. Nick glanced at Charlie as he decided what to tell her.

"I let Ben borrow Charlie for a few days, but Ben mistreated him."

"If another student damages your property you tell the school." She sighed.

"I know I should have, but I just lost control."

The head shrugged. "Well its surprising it took you this long to have your first bloodlust."

She saw Nick relax slightly. Embolden by how casually she was treating this.

"I would remind you that this is still serious. Dracula has a three strike policy for bloodlust incidents of attempted murder or serious harm against other vampires." Nick knew three strikes meant execution.

"Your father will be notified, you will have detention for two weeks and anger management classes for the rest of the term. Now go." The headmistress dismissed them with a wave of her hand.

Both nick and Charlie breathed a sigh of relief as they left the office. When they were in private Nick immediately hugged Charlie again.

"I'm so sorry." Nick felt tears coming to his eyes again. "I'm so sorry I let Ben take you, I'm sorry I didn't come for you sooner." They broke off the hug as nick tenderly held Charlies head in his hands, then nick saw the blood on Charlies neck and remembered what he had done in the heat of the moment. "I'm so sorry I bit you."

"Don't apologise. You saved me from him again."

"I just couldn't bear that thought of him hurting you. "Nick felt the rage rise within him again, aftershocks of the bloodlust. "Or the thought of you two having sex, your mine." Nick angrily blurted out. There was an aquard pause and a thought started nagging at nick.

"Wait you didn't want to sleep with him did you?" Nick asked.

"Oh god no!" Charlie exclaimed.
