When Charlie opened his door Nick stared, he was struck by how beautiful Charlie was.

"Is it bad?" Charlie asked looking down at the clothes he was wearing. A smart purple shirt with black ripped jeans. He had also styled his hair slightly differently.

"No you look, it looks great." Nick said, affectionally tasselling Charlies hair.

Charlie found himself neatening nicks collar as he tried not to notice how  handsome nick was. They had grown very close living together and would casually do things like pick lint off each others clothes.

"Are you ready?" Nick asked.

"I'm more worried about you." Charlie was half joking. "This is your first time at a vampire party."

"Anything I should know?" Nick asked. But Charlie knew if he told him nick would refuse to go.

"Just please don't let go of me." Charlie whispered. The two of them linked fingers. A lot of vampires would hold onto their blood bags, mostly arms or wrists, but enough held hands that it wouldn't raise eyebrows.

Their destination was harry greens birthday party, being held in one of the buildings on campus. The two of them soon joined the stream of people that were heading there giving them an opportunity to observe the other guests.

Both male and female vampires usually arriving in groups of the same gender. Some had brought their blood bags some hadn't. Some blood bags were dressed in their grey scrubs some had been dressed up.

Harry was greeting people at the entrance, as usual he looked full of himself. "Nick I'm so glad you made it. And you brought your elusive human."

Charlie shrank back as everyone looked at him, searching his exposed skin  for bite marks and bruises. Nick drew Charlie in to his side protectively.

As they made their way into the party a group of female vampires swarmed them. They flirted with Nick but also turned their attention to Charlie. Fawning over him like he was a puppy, reaching out to pet him.

"He's cute." One said touching Charlies face.

"I like the outfit you got him." Another tugged at his clothes.

Nick quickly pulled Charlie away from the girls. Charlie could feel nick shaking with anger so he led nick to a quiet corner to ask what was wrong.

"Their treating you like a pet. Your a human being." Nick balled his fists up in rage. "This is sick, we should go."

"Nick come play!" Harry called, gesturing to the rugby team who were gathering for what looked like a drinking game.

"If you don't play there will be questions." Charlie whispered in nicks ear. Then he squeezed nicks hand reassuringly. Reluctantly nick made his way over.

"we call this game blood bag bounce." Harry explained.

"Its simple your blood bag tries to bounce a ping pong ball into the cup. If they get it in they get to do do a shot. They miss you feed."

Nick was already sitting down but he immediately moved to get up, Charlie who was sitting next to him put a hand on nick to stop him. Nick looked a Charlie and Charlie shook his head ever so slightly, his eyes had a warning look in them.

It was always hard to tell which things in Dracula were optional and which weren't. Was his participation in this game being noted? If he didn't casually exploit humans would Dracula see him as defective, a vampire with empathy for humans. At best they would watch him closer at worse he would disappear. There could be spies and hidden cameras watching him right now.

As nick sat there trying to decide the game had already started. With the first blood bag missing the cup on the first try. Their annoyed looking vampire casually bit them.

Nick was torn. He didn't know if he had to participate, but he couldn't take that risk. If he left, people would notice, then Dracula would take a closer look at his life and find out that he wanted to escape. Then his Charlies and his mums lives would be at risk.

The tipping factor was Charlie, he wanted nick to play, he was consenting to nick biting him. Though that consent had to be coerced by the circumstances.

Then it was Charlies turn to play. He bounced the ball in the cup with practiced skill. Nick realised he had played this game before with Ben.

"No I can see why you wanted to keep a second hand blood bag." Harry laughed as Charlie took a shot of vodka and grimaced.

Each time Charlies turn came round nicks heart beat a million miles and hour. But the second time Charlie got it in. And the third.

"Ok last round." harry declared. Nicks hopes rose, all Charlie had to do was get in in one last time and they could leave. But the ball hit the edge of the cup and bounced off.

The team cheered, when Charlie turned to nick it was nicks turn to shake his head ever so slightly. He couldn't do it. But before he could get up Charlie was right in front of him, blocking his way. He undid the top two buttons on his shirt and pulled aside the collar to expose his neck.

He hadn't offered an arm so when he leaned in he could whisper in nicks ear. "Make a show of it." He said.

Nick didn't really have a choice at this point, Charlie was practically on top of him. Nick had never fed before and he could smell the blood, hear it pumping through Charlies veins, it was intoxicating. When Charlie brushed up against him his instincts just took over. Nicks fangs snapped out and he plunged them into Charlies neck.
