15. Saturday Blues

Saturday Sept. 10 11:30AM

Lisa's POV

"I'll be so blue just thinking about you. Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree. Won't be the same dear, if you're not here with me"

While the voice of father filled the air, Lisa sat in the middle of her lightly furnished living room and tried the best way to organize her vinyls and CDs. Today Lisa didn't wake up in the best mood, she woke up missing her father and feeling a little shamed because she questioned if he would be proud of her and what little she has accomplished.

Sighing, Lisa brushed her fingers through her hair and looked at the time. She sees it's just 11:40 am and thought "alright 20 more minutes till my Little Tinker Bell wakes up."

BUZZZ BUZZZ BUZZZ

Lisa hears her phone rings and decides to take a look at before going back to organizing her music collection, she sees she gets a message from the girl she met on Saturday.

Hey Lisa. Can't wait to see you tonight, I was thinking we could go to this cute bar around my house if you want? Keep it lowkey tonight

And before Lisa could fully think about what to say back to Tati, her phone starts vibrating again and it was Danny.

"Danny? What could he want?" She said out loud in a whisper.

Knowing that she and Danny hadn't spoken in a while since they had separated, Lisa didn't know what to think. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, she decided to answer his phone call and see what he wanted.

Already annoyed because she actually answered the call, Lisa sighs "Hello"

"Hey Lise, whats up", sensing he was kind of nervous to speak to her, she noticed he was putting on a little front and acting cheerful.

"Um, nothing Danny. What's going on?" "Nothing much, uh just calling to see how you and Riley are? Where is our little one at?"

"Our little one", Lisa had thought to herself and scuffed. "Well my little one is sleeping and she should be waking up soon, so again Danny what do you want?" Hearing the tone of her voice, Danny could tell Lisa was starting to get irritated with him, so decided to play it cool and try not to argue with her for once.

"Listen; Lise, I'm not trying to argue. I just wanted to see if I could hangout with you and Riley soon.

"Danny if you want to see Riley then that's fine you can."

"Okay, but I also want to see you too."

Staying quiet for a bit, Lisa thought back to their last conversation and remembered Danny called her a spoiled little brat when something wasn't going her way. Little did he know that nothing has ever went her way and she was trying to please other people, including him.

"Lise?" "Danny you can see me when I drop her off and before you say something, there's nothing else to talk about. I said I was done and meant that."

"Lisa, can we please talk about this? I feel like us being separated for three months was enough. Don't you want our little girl to have a family again?" Getting more irritated by the second and now craving a cigarette, she couldn't believe Danny would pull the family card all of sudden; especially since he's been free the last three months. "Danny how dare you use Riley against me and try to make this about family. Listen, you used those three months to do whatever you wanted, while I've been taking care of Riley by myself. You wanted space from my "crazy lifestyle", so I gave you that. I should've kicked your ass out of MY HOUSE which is IN MY NAME when we separated, but I didn't because I wasn't gonna have the father of my child just be homeless."
