Four Days Later ...

Michael's POV

"Alright little man we are here..." Michael had told Prince while pulling up to the black iron gates of his parent's house and pushing his code into the intercom to let him in.

It was a nice sunny day in Jersey with the right amount of breeze bristling the fall colored leaves on every tree and shaking them off until they touched the wet ground. It was the first official week of fall and the Jersey weather didn't waste any time on switching up while the City decided to take its time cooling down. Since Michael was leaving on Thursday, he decided to stop by his parents house with Prince to check up on things and to see how they were doing.

"Grandma house!" Prince yelled from the back seat while pointing at the huge white wooden and brown brick home then got even more excited when he saw the big water fountain in front.

"Daddy! Look, water!"

"Yeah buddy, Grandma and Papa fixed the water fountain..." Michael said while giggling at Prince's excitement.

"Alright little man let's get you out, so you can see the water fountain." Michael had told Prince while he parked the car in front and then stepped out to get Prince from the back. When walking to the back Michael had gotten a kick out of Prince because he was so excited about being at his grandparents house and when he opened the car door, Prince had clapped his hands and showed off his pearly whites while letting his father unbuckle him from his car seat.

"Someones excited..." Michael had mumbled while unbuckling Prince then letting him jump out of the car and run to the water fountain while he got his things from the trunk.

Katherine's POV

"He looks good, healthy even... He must've met somebody..." Katherine mumbled to herself while waiting for Michael and Prince to stop playing outside and come in when they are ready.

"Katy what are you mumbling about over there?" Joseph had asked coming from the other room into the foyer, standing behind her.

"Your son, look at him... Something's different, but I can't totally put my finger on it." She told him while studying Michael's body language through the window. .

"Katy the boy is outside watching our grandson play in that water fountain, I'm pretty sure you haven't discovered anything new." Joseph had told her while sucking on some butterscotch hard candy

"Last time I checked Joseph, you weren't the one who carried the boy for about 9 months... I did."

"True, but I did my share of raising him, Katy."

"Yes Joe, raising him into being a tin soldier, knowing that he was one of our most sensitive kids..."

"Katy, I thought we had already handled this..." Joseph had said in a low and calmly tone, but making sure to stand his ground.

"Listen, once I hear our children call you dad instead of Joseph, this situation won't ever be fully handled. You know Joseph I'm glad that you love your grandchildren and are able to show your softer side, but what abo—"

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

And before Katherine could finish her thought, she heard a knock on the door and she smiled lightly to herself because even though all of her kids had a key to their childhood home; they all still knocked and respected the parents boundaries even though she never told them too.

"Mother! It's uh Prince and I..." Michael had yelled from outside.

Katherine had cleared her throat and straightened up then gave Joseph a look letting him know that they were going to speak later. Once Katherine had opened the door Prince instantly ran to her and jumped in her arms.
