Lisa's Apartment that evening ...
Michael and Lisa's POV
Michael had put on a movie for Prince to distract him while he went looking for Lisa. The apartment wasn't really big, but he didn't know which of the 4 rooms were Lisa's. After checking the first two rooms he decided to go down to the hall and he opened up the left door to find Lisa sitting in the middle of crying her eyes out.
"What the fuck is going on?" Michael had thought to himself before making his presence known in the room.
He had cleared his throat and then continued to speak.
"Hey Baby."
Was the only words he could get out because he truly didn't know what to say or even what to do. He had stood there for a moment and waited for Lisa to respond, but she didn't. All she did was lift her head and stared blankly at the fridgetting with her fingers.
"What type of phone call was that?" Michael had thought to himself, he was used to seeing Lisa having a fiery, but sweet personality. But this was slowly becoming too much for him. So he decided to walk fully in the room and sit next to Lisa to see if she would give him any type of attention.
"Babe?" Michael had said this time in soft and tendering voice while turning Lisa's head, even though she didn't want him to see her in a vulnerable state. "No, no, no. Don't try to hide from me now."
Lisa ended up listening to him and turned her head. Michael had brushed his thumb on her wet cheeks trying to wipe away the tears that seem to still keep flowing. Her eyes were just like Riley's puffy, shiny and blue, but the only thing was through Lisa's eyes you can tell she's been through hell and back.
After a few moments Lisa mustered up some courage to talk to Michael and tell him how she felt.
"Hey. Um sorry you have to see me like this, but I think it's best to cancel this weekend. And also if this is too much for you then maybe we should slow down on what we've been doing." Lisa had told him while trying to hold back her tears.
Looking at her with disbelief, Michael sat there annoyed because he didn't know what was going on and he just knew Lisa was obviously hurting.
"Babe. I am not leaving here without you and also I'm not leaving you too."
After Michael said that, he had pulled Lisa into a tight hug before she could protest and tell him no. Michael had stroked her back and planted a kiss on the top of her head and told her things he had loved about her. After a few minutes Lisa had calmed down, backed off and just sat next to Michael.
"I'm sorry." Lisa had said in a sad whisper.
"Hey it's okay. Um Riley told me you were on the phone with your mother, so I'm assuming it wasn't a good one?"
Lisa had lightly giggled and shook her head yes. "Yea it wasn't. I told her about my divorce and my plans then next thing you know she completely lost it. It's like if it doesn't go her way then I'm the bad guy or the fuck up. In her eyes I ruin things."
Michael just sat there and was quiet, he could tell Lisa needed to talk. So he let her, for some reason the feeling of being her safe space had appeared again and he wanted to fill that.
"I just knew I shouldn't have married Danny, I know that's not the right thing to say but... I married him because I thought that was the right thing todo and I didn't want to disappoint anyone by having a child out of wedlock. Also I just felt if Danny and I married then I would be to eventually love him fully one day, I just needed to get away from her."
