"sae, what's your favorite flower?"

sae looked at her beside him with his usual flat, bored expression. they came from a grocery store and had passed by a flower shop to which aiya ogled in awe at the fresh, vibrant plants and flowers.

"don't have one," he muttered.

she gasped playfully, "no, you do have one. tell me."

he blinked, "tell me yours first."

she continued to walk down the street with him, smiling dazedly, "tulips, specifically pink tulips because they match my hair."

"your hair is annoyingly pink," he scoffed. she punched his arm softly in return.

"now tell me yours."

he stared at her pink hair, "i like tulips too."

only because you said they're your favorite.

"i've never received flowers before," she said in a joking manner. "do guys even give flowers anymore?"

sae abruptly stopped walking which made her look at him questioningly. he suddenly grabbed her wrist and started walking at a fast pace back to where they came from, pulling and tugging her along. she was confused at his abrupt actions.

"hey! what're you doing?"

he didn't answer her and still kept up his emotionless expression, striding towards the flower shop they passed by earlier. sae took the nicest looking, small bouquet of pink tulips and quickly dumped a load of cash to the lady, muttering at her to keep the change.

he walked back to aiya, whose lips were parted in surprise. he handed her the tulips, rolling his eyes.

"take them, you moron."

she stared at the tulips in silence, he couldn't read what she was feeling but he, himself, felt nervous even though he hid it well.

she blinked and smiled so hard, it looked like it hurt her cheeks. she looked at him with so much content.

"thank you, sae."

he narrowed his eyes at her, "just make sure they're not dead by tomorrow."

itoshi sae loves pink tulips.
