[artist recommendation: you me at six]
You stumbled out, your long legs crashing against themselves in a vain attempt to gain balance. You had always been clumsy.
I got up, but you didn't dare to look at me. Instead, you propped yourself down on one knee and tied your shoelaces.
I inhaled heavily, and that caused you to look up. Your eyes, a part of your body that held almost all emotions, were blank. I didn't know what to make of it.
When you got up, you slowly walked towards me. I didn't expect you to hug me, to kiss me, but didn't expect you to act like a complete stranger either.
"I," I started, but once again, you cut me off.
"It's like I said before, we can't be together."
I opened my mouth to speak, but then closed it just in time and nodded weakly.
"I'll see you around." But even as you said it, I knew that you wouldn't see me ever again. I knew you; you ran from your problems. They said nobody was perfect, and that was your only flaw. I thought the world of you, deemed you as perfect, yet you wasted no time to let that world crash down.
"Okay," I said, and then you leaned in. You didn't hug me, instead you patted me on the shoulder once and then walked to the officer who was standing near the entrance with some legal papers.
You'd left me without an apology, without a goodbye, once again, yet I couldn't hate you.
And that wasn't my flaw; it was my weakness.
