Detention Part 1

I was walking to the library for my final math review and it sucked. Everyday I kept missing hanging out with my friends during lunch to do stupid algebra, I am never going to do a systematic equation to figure out if I should buy a grapefruit or an orange... I'll save myself the pain and buy them both!

Anyway, Mrs. Spitz was standing in the doorway as I signed in.

"Hello Mrs. Gruzzio! Glad to see you have followed through with the extra math lessons! You're teacher is over there obviously but first I have to step out of proctoring detention and you're one of our star students! Would you mind stepping in for me? Just for a few minutes!" She said as she zoomed away. I rolled my eyes as her back was against me and walked to the detention hall.

"What?! You have detention?!" Steve snickered. Justin gave him a high-five.

"No. I am here to proctor you until Mrs. Spitz gets back." I said and crossed my arms seeing just about every person I'd rather stray away from in my presence.

"That's so stupid." Steve said.

"Shut up Steven." Nathan said.

What Nathan? What was he doing in detention?

"Nathan?" I said trying to start a side conversation with him.

"Yea, some teacher saw me pushing Justin into that locker and sent me here for the rest of the week." He stated bluntly.

"Wow.. sorry." I shrugged.

"Hey, you can't be monitoring us. Your just a student." Justin spoke.

"Yea, but I am a good student. I don't even know what you are. Who comes back to school when they practically own the world?" I said with a chuckle but I wasn't in the best of moods.

"I do, gotta bring my team to the championship and you might not think it's important but prom is a privilege." He said winking at Delilah.

Did I say I had a crush on Justin? Yea no I have a crush on the old him.

I checked the clock hoping Mrs. Spitz would be back soon.

"Hey Nathan why don't you go on and kiss Hannah already?" Steve smirked devilishly. Oh great he knows too?

"Do you want me to fight you too?" Nathan said standing up from his desk.

"Guys stop." Justin said leaning forward in his office chair pinching the bridge of his nose with his fingers as his face started to fill in with red.

"Come at me bro." Steve said relaxed as Nathan clenched his fists.

"Just shut up ok? I don't even like her anymore! Don't I have a right to say which girls are hot?" He said, for some reason it seemed like he said it more for his dignity and less of for what he was actually feeling.

"Dude, stop talking your making it worse." Justin laughed, his laugh never changed.

Nathan slumped in his chair and Mrs. Spitz made a timely appearance.

"Everything ok while I was gone?" She asked with a smile which signed she was thanking me.

"Yea, just peachy." I said sarcastically.

"We were fine Mrs.. it's just that we get that Hannah is hot, but we can't own up to having feeling for her can we?" Justin said and my cheeks flushed red. I was standing up at the front of the class with Delilah sending me death glares.

Nathan stood up and plunged at Justin and Steve even joined in on the brawl.Mrs. Spitz started calling for everyone to calm down and she pressed her red button for backup security guards which also most of the time involves the principal making an appearance.

Curse words were being thrown everywhere at each other and Justin managed to stop the fight and his face wasn't even bruised.

"To my office! You four!" Principal Rivers scolded... Us?

"But I had nothing to do with it Princi-" I started to say.

"No buts! To my office now!" He was in a horrible mood.

We all marched to his office and Nathan and Steve went in first as he made me and Justin wait outside.

"Do you think they will be awhile?" Justin said relaxing in the waiting chair in the hallway.

"Knowing Principal Rivers? Yes." I said.

"I can't even believe I got I trouble! I can't get detention." I sighed and shook my head.

"You were the whole reason Nathan went rogue! So technically you should get in trouble because you were involved." He stated.

"What is with you two anyway?" He asked curiously. Why would he even care? 

"Nothing you're the one that started this." I rolled my eyes.

"So if it wasn't for me he'd just fail at flirting with you and you would keep ignoring him? Like you're waiting for someone who doesn't exist? That sounds bitchy to me. Don't you have eyes or...feelings?" He mocked me.

"Shut up. What happened to the friend you used to be?" I thought out loud bitterly.

I covered my mouth shocked that I said that and watched him for a reaction, he bit his lip and didn't look me in the eye.

"I-" he was about to reply but got interrupted.

"Justin and Hannah? He is ready to see you." The secretary came out and let us in.

We sat next to Nathan and Steve.

"I want the whole story." Principal Rivers said behind his desk.

I thought that I wouldn't talk much because I don't know the whole story and I didn't even fight anybody. I also don't want to hear what they are going to say about me so I should be able to leave.

"Well it all started in math class." Nathan began.
