'I am worthless. I'm stupid. I'm a fuck up. I'm a waste of space.'
Those names ran through Brianna's mind. Those are some of the choice words she gets called everyday by the popular people, and her parents. She felt as if people enjoyed calling her those things. Like it almost released their own pain only to cause more pain for another person. 'People are so cruel.' She thought to herself. She didn't deserve any of this. She never did anything to any of those people. It's made no sense to her.
The class bell rang, signaling the end of the day. She raised her head off the desk. She gathered her books together, and lifted them off her desk, making sure her sleeves stayed down past her wrists. No one needed to know how she released all her anger, and pain.
She kept her head low, her tangled black hair in her face. All of a sudden, she ran into someone, and her books fell to the ground. She didn't look up, but decided just to pick up her books, and hurry away, but the other person had other plans.
"Watch where you're going, nerd," A girl squealed. She could tell that squeaky, shrill voice anywhere. Meagan.
"S-sorry," Brianna stuttered, ushering her books together in a pile and scooping them up, still not making eye contact.
"Where do you think your going? Huh?" She shrieked. Brianna didn't reply, but kept walking away. All of a sudden, she felt pressure on her back, only to be shoved into the lockers, her books tumbling to the ground once again, "Worthless piece of trash! Answer me when I talk to you!" Meagan yelled, with a smirk placed on her makeup coated face.
Brianna shook with fear. Honestly, she was terrified of Meagan. Ever since Meagan caught Brianna talking to her boyfriend. Brianna shook her head at the horrible memory. "Have you talked to my boyfriend anymore, weirdo? Huh?" Meagan taunted, grabbed her by the hair, and pulling her down. Brianna winced.
"Let go!" Brianna cried. By now students had already cleared the halls, and were on the buses. Her being sure the buses had left and she would be late getting home.
"Haha. The little nerd is talking back now, aye? We can't have that, now can we?" She laughed evilly as she slammed Brianna's head against the lockers, hard. Brianna let a tear fall down her cheek, "That'll do for today. Have an... awful night." She giggled, and walked off down the hallway.
Bri slid down the lockers, and covered her face with her hands, and cried. She let out small sobs, but then realized she was still at school. She looked over, and gathered her scattered papers, textbooks, and notebooks. She got up, and put her books in her locker, thankful for no homework.
She shuffled down the hallway of her high school. Many times has she feared walking down these hallways. Scared of the bullies, and any confrontation. She slowly walked down the steps. The sounds of her footsteps filling the silence. She left the steps, and rounded a corner, only to walk out the door.
No buses in sight. She'll have to walk home. The sky was clouded with grey, and white. The grass looking limp, and lifeless. The wind blowing harshly, on an off. She tugged at her sleeves, pulling down, embarrassed that anyone would see what she did to her wrists.
As she neared her home, she trembled in fear. She feared the wrath of her father. She got beat everyday. She was 16 now, and has now been beaten since she was 14. Two straight years of bruises, broken bones, pain, and suffering. The bullying had started a week after she started high school. She still takes what these bullies say to heart, but she knows she shouldn't.
"Be stronger than them. Be better. Just be the beautiful person you are," Were the last words spoken to Brianna from her grandmother before she passed. She was the only one that really cared about her. The only one that could listen about how her day was, and such.
She approached her house. She opened the door, dreading to see what was revealed.
She was ashamed to call this hell hole her home.
