We continue to walk down a hallway, I jump as the clock rings out. I hear Daryl snicker.
"Don't even say a word." I warn him which causes him to do it more, I hear walkers get closer.
"Move." Daryl orders as he now becomes more aware and protective, we quickly make our way to another locker room hoping to escape the on coming walkers. Beth runs further from us as they get closer, I and Daryl turn and kill a walker each. I step back as Daryl uses his crossbow to knock one into the wall, a tall walker makes its way to me. I go to stab it but Beth pulls me away, I glare at her.
"Daryl's got this." She tells me as the walker gets closer.
"We've got this." I snap. As I go after the walker I trip over something, making the walker now land on me. "Fuck." I struggle to keep it at bay. "Little help Beth?" She just stares at me looking lost. "No? Okay, thanks." I finally roll it over on to it's back so I'm now on top, I grab my knife that I got from the kitchen and stab it into the walkers head. I pant as it stops moving, I turn to look at Beth and notice that she is now covered in blood thanks to Daryl killing a walker in front of her. I stand up.
"Ye' good Megs?" Daryl questions.
"I am now."
"I'm good, thanks for asking." Beth resorts.
"Listen, I saw what ye' did. There wa' no need fer it, Megs 'ad it and ye' almost got 'er killed, so I ain't gon' ask if yer good."
"What was that Beth? You knew I could have handled it." I ask her.
"He was taller than you, I was trying to save you."
"How is that saving me? Pulling me back cause it to get closer to us and you expected Daryl to kill it when he was dealing with another walker by himself."
"My daddy always said never take on someone taller than you, always have someone else do it."
"We're not in that world Beth, you nearly got us killed."
"I'm not a kid, you don't need to treat me like one."
"Then prove it, stop acting like one. You could have helped me, but you didn't."
"Daryl had it handled."
"No I didn't, if tha' were someone else they'd be dead by now cause I wa' dealin' with my own walker." Daryl tells her.
"I'm sorry okay, I'm sorry." Beth pleads.
"It's okay." I sigh, I don't think that she's ever killed one before.
"Really?" Daryl questions me.
"We don't have time to hold grudges or hate each other. Just move past it okay?" They both nod. We finally make it to the room that Beth wanted.
"We made it." Beth says as she turns to us. "I know you both think this is stupid and it probably is, but I don't care. All I wanted to do today was lay down and cry, but we don't get to do that. So we beat up on walkers if that makes you feel better. I need to do this." She walks to the bar while Daryl grabs some more money.
"Really Daryl?" I ask, he shrugs and breaks the glass on a picture.
"Did you have to break the glass?" Beth complains.
"No, ye' 'ave yer drink yet?" He folds the picture up and places it in his pocket.
"No, but I found this.2 She places a bottle on the counter. "Peach schnapps. Is it good?"
"No." Both me and Daryl answer.
"Well it's the only thing left." She looks around for a glass.
"Megs come 'ere." Daryl says, I walk over to him. He passes me a dart.
