"It's beautiful." Beth says, Daryl gives her a questionable look. "Who ever did this cared. They wanted these people to get a funeral, they remembered these things were people before all this. They didn't let it change them in the end, don't you think that's beautiful?" Daryl doesn't answer, I look at one of the walkers. They have make-up on half of their face. "Megan?"
"Hmm?" I look at her.
"Don't you think it's beautiful?"
"I don't know, it's a little creepy."
"Come on." Daryl says, he bandages Beth's ankle up. After that we head to the kitchen to see if there was any food or drink.
"Dang. You two find anything?" Beth asks us, I open a cupboard and grin at my findings.
"Whoa." Daryl comes to my side.
"Peanut butter an' jelly, chet soda an' pigs feet." He tells us the food.
"Dibs on the peanut and jelly." I say with a smirk on my face.
"Tha's a white trash brunch right there." Daryl comments.
"It all looks good to me." Beth replies.
"No, hold up." He takes a jar. "Ain't a speck of dust on this."
"So?"
"That means somebody just put it here, this is someone's stash." I answer.
"Maybe they're still alive." Daryl says, I look at him. "Alright, we'll take some of it an' we'll leave the rest all right?"
"I knew it." Beth grins.
"Knew what?"
"It's like I said. There are still good people." Daryl undoes a jar, sticks his fingers in and eats the food.
"Mmm." I chuckle and sit down at the table.
"Gross."
"Kinda hot." I comment, Daryl winks at me.
"All right, those pig feet are mine." Daryl says.
"All yours?"
"We can share."
"Good. Cause I wasn't gonna ask." He smirks.
"Get a room already." Beth jokes.
"I mean, there are plenty of rooms here."
"Ye'll be fine fer a while wont ye' Beth?" Daryl asks.
"I really hope you guys are joking." Beth looks grossed out, I keep a straight face. She looks between us. "You're serious?" I was the first to laugh.
"No. Now isn't the time or place." I assure her.
"Thank god."
It's now night time, we put up a mini defence by the door so we know if walkers come close to the home. Me and Daryl head to where we could hear Beth singing.
"And pine for summer. And we'll buy a beer to shotgun and we'll lay in the lawn. And we'll be good." Daryl clears his throat, making Beth stop playing the piano and singing.
"The place is nailed up tight." He tells her as he places the crossbow on the couch. "Only way in is through the front door." He lifts himself up into a casket.
"What are you doing?"
"This is the comfiest bed I've had in years." He lays down. "Well Meg's was a close first."
"It was comfy wasn't it?" I smile.
"Definitely."
"You're really comfy in that?" Beth asks him.
