"uh, reaction, observation, communication, any questions so far?" lots of hands shot up.
dr. bailey was giving a presentation to the residents in one of the skills labs, and faith and lexie were getting a bit bored. their patient treatment was already perfect. why do they need to change what they are doing?
"we are doing this because chief shepherd suggests we brush up on our patient sensitivity skills, thats why. and it just so happens this morning was a very good time. besides, half of you were raised by wolves." faith and charles looked at eachother deadpan. "reaction," she starts to write on the board, "keep your face impassive, whether prompted by a patients appearance or lab results,facial expressions of surprise, concern, disgust, et cetera, can be counter productive." she goes on to explain the rest of the words she had previously said.
bailey suddenly gets a page, and after recieving it, moves faster than she had before. faith was tuning out most of the conversation when she hears reed as a question.
"why are you going so fast?" she asks.
"it just so happens that we have an emergent patient arriving who will need a little extra sensitivity. so remember to employ your R O C, and you will.. hm... rock your patient's world." all the residents chuckled a little bit at bailey's joke and got up to go meet the patient in the pit.
faith walked out the ER doors and into the ambulance bay and found liam standing with hunt waiting for the incoming patient.
"whats up with the patient?" she asked the two. "i mean, who- what is the pat- uhm, whats wrong with the patient?" she asked, rephrasing her question.
"you'll see," hunt said to her, "hes pulling in now." he said again while walking away.
"alright people, remember what you've been taught, use it throughout the day. there will be consequences if you dont." she said to the group of people.
"oooh she just mothered you." liam said in her ear.
"novak off the case." bailey said to him, not even turning to face him.
"you're not serious- shes not serious." liam said down to faith. "can she even do that?"
"i'm very serious, and i can do what i want, now stop talking to your girlfriend and go find something to do." bailey sternly looked at him.
liam walked off while giving a look to faith as she was chuckling at him.
"what the hell is it?" alex asked the group as faith joined her group of residents.
firefighters and the paramedics came out to the ambulance. except the patient wasn't even in an ambulance. they were in a big truck.
"what did the circus come to town?" reed questions.
