3rd Person POV

"If you three are done with wasting my time," Taluipa said breaking a pregnant pause. "Hye Jin, you want to know about your past life right?"

"I guess? I still can't believe that...I had one. I never believed in all those things. But I have a question, does having a different face from my past life mean that it's not me?"

When she was still living her normal life and writing scripts, she was researching the topic of reincarnation as it was the main plot of her story. She found that sometimes the body is just a shell for the soul of the person to take over. And sometimes it is them but just simply don't remember their past life.

"You are the same person, you just have a different body. That doesn't mean that you aren't your past self." Taluipa explained and Hye Jin didn't know if she should be happy or conflicted.

"So..what's the story?" Yeon asked Taluipa.

"About 500 years ago," she started, "A girl was born in a family that consisted of a human and a fox. She was loved by her parents a lot but being a half-fox came with cons. Her father was one of the powerful foxes and marrying and having offspring with a human was forbidden to them. To punish him, they killed his wife and as her last request was for their daughter to be safe he fled with their child watching from afar her body getting burned along their house in which they made promises to be living happily with their child."

Hye Jin knew that the story was about her and her family, her past life. Of course she knows because she saw it through the glasses, but the ending.. how she died was too painful. She felt a faint pain in her chest and the scene of how she died in her past life flashed through her mind. She can't help but feel hers was a little more painful than Ah Eum's. Her whole life was in fact, worse than Ah Eum's.

(Taluipa doesn't know the full story, I'm just taking you guys through a flashback of Hye Jin's past life.)

The kid kept on wailing in her father's arms as if feeling the absence of her mother. The father clenched the baby's body close to him as he ran as fast and far as he can. His surroundings were blurry as he zoomed away, and his tears kept slipping from his eyes, crying for the loss of his love and the mother of their daughter.

During the night he stopped to retire till dawn. He took shelter under the huge tree, he sat against it holding his daughter who already fell asleep after crying till exhaustion hit her. The man cradled the child close to him to keep her warm as much as he could at the moment.

Looking at his daughter's face brought tears to his eyes yet again and when they fell, he didn't bother wiping them away.

Years went on and the human-fox hybrid and her father were living safely away from the enemies and the others knew them as just mere humans. The father trained his daughter—everything she would need to know and have. From her special abilities to her combat training.

They were living happily by themselves with the memories of his wife and her mother. Her father talked about her mother consistently and even if she didn't get to meet her, she still loved her very much.

But the happiness couldn't stay in their family. Eventually, they found where they were hiding and how they were in disguise. The daughter begged her father to run away with her but he insisted to stay behind and astray them for her and promised he would meet her again.

That was the last time she had seen him. She didn't know if he was alive or dead. But remembering his promise to her boosted her will to go on. She was on the run, never staying in one place for more than a few days.

More Years Went By...

Years went by, and they did she trained hard. Her special abilities and her combat skills. She found over the years that she had the skill to disguise her scent which made it easier for her to settle in one place other than being on the run. She still didn't find her father but she still searched for him, she wanted to find him even if he was dead.

When she moved to a different city to keep her immorality a secret, she unexpectedly met Lee Yeon who's she became his partner of sorts to help him in anything he wanted. The three, Yeon, Shin Joo and she became close friends, especially Yeon and she had a sister and brother bond.

But when the enemies caught up to her she ran away to keep the two people who slowly became her family, safe and left just a note saying she was on the run and begged not to find her but they didn't listen to her and tried finding her but didn't succeed.

When she was doing the usual, being on the run. She felt her energy drain and had fallen unconscious due to hunger and exhaustion. When she had come through, she realised that she was in someone's house. She had panicked thinking that she was captured. When she tried to escape through the door she found it unlocked which she found weird.

From the hallway came Lee Rang, who had saved her. Her being on alert didn't believe that he wasn't one of the people finding her and her father for hundreds of years. After many arguments and a punch or two on his face, she acknowledged that he was telling the truth. And from there she started to live with him. But she tried to keep her distance to not get attached to him because she would have to leave him one day or another like she had to leave her found family behind.

But the things you plan don't always go according to your plans and so she found herself doing the opposite— falling in love. It sure was weird for her to feel something like that for someone but she loved the feeling, the warmth and the security she felt.

As time went by they started to get closer and closer and had become official. Her life was getting normal and happiness and joy filled her life once again but she was naive to think it would last long.
