On the way home, Jess wasn't answering my calls. I wanted to bring her some dinner so she could stop eating those nasty ass snacks she kept buying.

The little rascal ordered Pickle juice, peanut butter, salty sausage and cereal through door dash and tried hiding it from me.

But I didn't want to blow her cover so I played blind to it all.

"If she doesn't answer, can we just get Taco Bell?" Liam suggested. I guess the pizza and popcorn wasn't enough because everyone was basically nagging to stop for food.

"It's fine, we'll go to Taco Bell, but I'll get her something from Apple Bees. She doesn't like the smell of ground beef, remember last week when we made home made spaghetti?"

"Yeah she threw everything up" Mj screwed up his face insinuating that it was disgusting.

"And she's getting a little fat"

"Liam!" My mom gave him a swat on the hand.

"What? It's true" he laughed at her soft hit and at the fact that his auntie was gaining some weight which I would never complain about.

"Well we all will get fat one day"

"Um who is We? Speak for yourself" Mj got defensive.

"You think you're going to be slim all your life?"

"Dad, I have some really good genes, I'm going to be sexy forever. Right grandma?"

My Mother looked at me, smiling and nodding her head, going along with her grandsons shenanigans.

Narration:

Lieutenant Dean proved to be a true man of his word. Not only showing up to Masons home within thirteen minutes, he also arrived with backup. Two patrol cars and four officers.

Jess insisted on not going to the hospital and that she was fine, but she was still shaken up.

They questioned her but not in a harsh demeaning manner. They were gentle and understanding of what she just went through.

Damien stayed at the scene with her but sat in silence.

"Who is he?" One of the officers asked.

Jess looked at him, contemplating snitching and revealing everything that Kim had exposed. But while Kim was knocked out, Damien explained everything.

From the beginning and the first time he met Kim while playing basketball. To how he battled with his sexuality. How he took the fall for Kim stealing from her. To trying to stop her from blackmailing Jamison. To finally admitting that he was just a pawn in Kim's shenanigans and how he meant nothing to her at all.

Although he wasn't all that innocent, he wasn't one hundred percent guilty either.

Damien's chest was heaving up and down nervously, wondering if She would give him up to the police but what she did was the biggest act of kindness that she could offer.
