"No way, You fell for me first"
"Boy you use to follow me around since freshman year. Don't play with me Jamison" Ananda said which made everyone laugh and clown on Jamison.
He had invited his girlfriend over for dinner to meet the family. They held hands the entire night, thats the honeymoon phase. The phase where you cant get enough of one another, always wanting to touch the other person or be in their presence.
Damien had made Salmon Alfredo, home made garlic and cheesy bread with a Cesar salad. Of course he kept his word, letting Ananda believe Jamison had cooked the meal for them.
"So Amanda" Maddi leaned forward, putting on a serious face. "Do you want to be married someday?"
"Of course, who doesn't?"
"Do you want kids ?"
"Definitely"
"Do you believe a man should go 50/50 with a woman in the household?"
"Hell no"
"Okay I like her" she sat back, giving her a welcoming smile.
"The food was so good, I never realized how well you cook"
"Well you know I try" Jamison rubbed his hands together, acting like Mr.CoolGuy.
"Uncle J, now you know you can't co..."
"Cant sing, he went to say cant sing" Maddison covered Liams mouth to shut him up. He wasn't made aware of the plan.
"So Ananda, where are you from?" Jess asked to fill the awkward silence.
"My families from Detroit and migrated to Carolina in the early two thousands. I grew up here so I consider this to be my home"
"You're really pretty" Liam was crushing on his uncle's girlfriend.
"Aww thank you"
The dinner went on quite nicely and Amanda seemed genuine. She actually had a lot of things in common with Jess.
After dinner, they ate some left over cookie dough ice cream for desert.
She didn't have a car so Jamison took her home because it was getting late. Plus Jess wanted to hurry up and finish pack. She and Symone had an early morning flight to Chicago.
RING RING
Damiens phone was going off and he refused to answer.
PING PING
Text messages rang off, still no response on Damien's end.
RING RING
"Are you going to get that?" Jess asked becoming annoyed.
"Its my brother, he's been asking me for money lately but I honestly don't have it"
"Well you need to tell him that Damien, you're not working right now so you can't afford to be giving anyone money right now. Especially if they're not going to pay you back"
"He's my brother Jess..."
"When he learns to stop sniffing crack and shooting needles into his arm, then we can talk"
Damien's brother Isaac was a crack head. He's the only sibling who went down the wrong path. He use to smoke weed a lot and was laced two years ago. He's been in rehab four times and has yet to change. He always promises to turn his life around then relapses weeks later. He lives on the streets by choice. He has a wife and kids who want him home, but he's too far gone.
