NARRATOR:

"Come on, tell me, how bad is it?" Mason asked

"Well, the cause of your night terrors, sleep walking and hallucinations were brought on by a combination of drugs we found in your system. Pain killers, ibuprofen and benzodiazepine being amongst them"

"How did benzodiazepine get in his system, he doesn't take them" Jess defended him.

"Well this entire bottle is filled with them. I find it ironic that it matches the same amount that was reported missing from the labs a few months ago"

"What are you insinuating? that I stole them then brought him here?"

"Of course not" he shook his head immediately. "But someone here had to have access to our lab because a great amount was missing"

"Its Symone, I told you"

"Why would Symone intentionally be giving you these knowing the harm they can do?" Malik asked very concerningly.

"Because she's saying that her baby is mine"

"I mean, did you sleep with her?"

"She insisted that we did, but I felt like she drugged me. I have no recollection of that night whatsoever"

"Why would she do that?"

"Because she wants my money, that's all"

"Well, will you do a DNA test?"

"Hell yeah, she's not trapping me. I have two kids and I know the mother of both of them"

"Two? When did you have another kid?"

Mason didn't answer, instead he placed his hand over the tiniest bump that appeared on Jess's stomach. "Oh, I see" Malik forced a smile seeing that he still had some sort of feelings for Jess. However, he wished both of them well, even if it did sting a bit.

"So, what do we do now?" she asked the lingering question.

"Well, we begin the detox. We have to get you off of these pills now. They're ruining your body and messing with your mind my friend"

"How will it be?" He asked knowing how drug addicts have terrible withdrawals.

"It wont be good, you'll need her as much as possible" He motioned to Jess.

"How can I need you, when its you who needs me" he whispered to her. The doctor just stressed how easy she needs to take it, now Mason will have to detox all of the drugs out of his system.

"I'll be fine, we just need to get you better and well so you can take care of me"

She kissed his forehead and he leaned into her for comfort.

"How long will the detox take?"

"Well from your labs, you've been on these for about six to seven months, so at least two weeks, maybe more because you've been taking these everyday, twice a day"

"Fuck !" he grunted. He hated the thought of missing doctors appointments with Jess and the baby, or not being there for the family. He took his role of being head of the household and the man of the family very seriously. He felt like everything would fall apart if he took time off to get well.

"Mason we need you to be 100% your best and In order to do that, you have to detox these things out of your system"

"I know. When do we start?" He asked. "Right Now" Malik informed him, throwing the entire pill bottle away.
