Ghost!Luke Bullied!Ashton

———————————————

It wasn't as if anyone got hurt; or at least that's what Ashton thought. Ashton is what you would call a loner, well you would if he was actually ever really alone. Ashton sees dead people, well a dead person, maybe. Ever since he was little he had this one friend, is friend the right word? And well they never really left. Ashton can remember clearly being 6 years-old playing in the front yard with some other kids from the neighborhood and being watched by a figure with blue eyes. He asked the girl who lived next door to him, Mali-Kao? Ashton thinks is what she told him her name was, if she saw it? Him? too.  She didn't. He never really asked anyone else that again. He tried to approach it more than once but it always just disappeared. Ashton always felt it around though, even if it was no where to be seen.

Ashton remembers being 8 on his bike and getting distracted by Calum, his best friend at the time, calling his name and almost hitting a pothole in the road and wiping out. But the weird thing is he remembers hitting it and falling but he saw a flash of a shadow and the next thing he knew he was sitting on the grass 10 feet away from where he was just a second before. When he asked Calum about it later his best friend just said his bike wobbled then he stopped and sat there, nothing really weird about it. Ashton just dropped the topic because he never really had a friend before and didn't want Calum to think he was weird.

Ashton just accepted this force was there. It never tried to hurt him so it he never thought it was a problem.

Fast forward to junior year of high school, that's when the problems started. Calum ditched him for better friends, He never was never good at friends so he didn't make anymore, and people thought he was weird. His biggest problem was the devil reincarnated, or at least that's what Ashton called him, Micheal Clifford. Micheal moved to Ashton's little home town in the spring of freshman year and ever since he made it his life goal to make Ashton's life a living hell. Ashton doesn't know what he did to piss off the blue-haired monster so much but ever since they meet in period 6 English in the 9th grade, Micheal has hated him and never really gave him a reason why. Ashton never really asked either.

Today the abuse was worse its been in a while. After Michael and his goons beat the shit out of him and ripped off his notebooks, Ashton just felt like giving up. Finals were next week and any chance of him actually passing the 11th grade is long gone and ripped up and spread all over the main hallway of school. While Ashton is limping home so he can get cleaned up and get to this job after school at the little corner store on Main street. A few hours into his shift is when he hear some startling news from the two older ladies walking into of the store.

"Did you hear what happened to Karen's son?" one asked the other while looking over the magazines on the rack.

"Karen from book club?" The one pushing a stroller asked back.

"Yeah, her son Micheal just got in a car accident not even two hours ago. He's okay but I heard he broke his arm so I guess hes out of soccer for the rest of the season, poor kid." She tells her friend as  she hands the magazine she picked out and a soda to Ashton to check out. He almost dropped the items from shock and he thinks he forgot to charge her for the soda because his mind is racing. When they leave he left to his own thoughts. Is it his fault?

Ashton is walking home later that night alone, well as alone as Ashton gets, when something that has never happened before happened. He suddenly wasn't alone. He looks to his right and sees a boy in all black with hair the color of gold and the piercing blue eyes he remembers from his childhood. Ashton feels like he should be shocked, but he isn't. He has always known that this mysterious boy was there. He has even taking comfort in blue-eyes's presence before like he is now. He has never responded when Ashton calls to him and always flashes away before Ashton can get to close. Now they are just walking together like this is normal for them. Till Ashton asks him a question.

"Did you do that?" no answer

"When ever someone really hurts me they always have something happen to them, is that you?" still no answer.

"When I was eight and the bike thing happened, was that you. What about when I was 10 and those kids were picking on me at recess then they fell down two flights of stairs later that day? Did you hurt people because you wanted to protect me? You shouldn't do that because hurting people makes you just as bad as them, dude." Frustratingly no answer but this comment did get him a look from Mr. Tall Dark and Silent, so Ashton takes the small victory.

"You've been fallowing me my whole life and I think I deserve some answers! Like whats your name? Favorite color? Anything?!?" Ashton exasperates at the boy to the left. All that got was a chuckle. They continue to walk home in silence till Ashton's house comes into view. The boy stopped walking and so did Ashton. The blond by gave Ashton a name and a smile before disappearing into thin air.

    "Luke."
