AN: The next update will be the epilogue and then this story will be finished. I also wanted to say I got an Instagram for this story/account. The name is no_control3. There will be extra visuals like outfits, houses, cars, etc. Anyways, enjoy!
I stood stiff as a board staring at the café's wooden doors and the slanted "We're open!" sign hanging in the window.
My mind was spinning around trying to imagine what was waiting behind those oak walls.
I repeatedly glanced down at the sticky note and back at the café. There's only one way to figure out what is waiting for me.
I took a few tentative steps towards the doors while fiddling with my belt nervously.
Then, I stopped and took deep breaths to compose myself before resuming my shaky path towards the oak wood doors.
My hand wrapped around the metal handle of the right door before yanking it open excitedly.
Darkness welcomed me.
"What?" I muttered as I stepping into the building.
A faint click reached my ears which caused me to perk up. Seconds later, the whole café was illuminated with dazzling lights strung along the edge of the ceiling. Some were even wrapped around little potted plants at the tables.
In the middle of the room with his guitar in his lap sat on a stool was none other than Kane Edward Donovan.
"H-hey," he stammered nervously.
"Hi," I responded.
Kane wore black skinny jeans, a white button-up shirt, and his favorite hat. He looked gorgeous in something so simple.
I scanned the room to see all of my friends seated at tables smiling at me.
I locked eyes with Sabrina who sat with Nate. She shot me a wink, and Nate gave me a thumbs up.
At a different table sat Ash, Adam, Jesse, and Jason. Ash had his hand enclosed around none other than Leia's. "The Comic Couple together at last," I thought with s cheeky grin.
Raven had her head on Jesse's shoulder. Adam had his arm around Bianca and I gave him a "I told you so" look. Jason sat with a girl with black hair, brown eyes, and a nose piercing. I raised my eyebrows. He gave me a "I'll tell you later" look.
"Ana," Kane called, snapping my attention to him. "You look beautiful," he breathed while looking me up and down.
"Not too bad yourself," I laughed.
He flashed his pearly whites before strumming a few chords on his guitar.
"I need your love to light up this house. I would not know what you're all about. I wanna feel you, feel you tonight. I wanna tell you that it's alright," he started singing.
He continued to sing "Never Be" and with each note my heartbeat quickened.
"As young as we are now," Kane finished while gazing into my eyes.
He stood quietly, set his guitar on the stool he was sitting on, and walked over to me.
"How long?" I asked as he took my hand.
"Remember that photograph I took of you on our anniversary here?" he asked and I nodded in response.
"I was looking at that picture the day I remembered which was the day I got into your house using the spare key," he told me.
"So, you didn't remember only where I hid the spare key?" I questioned. "I remembered so much more than that, Pretty Brown Eyes," he whispered, his nose touching mine.
I leaned in to kiss him, but he took a step back. "There's something else I need to tell you," Kane told me in a voice encased in nervousness.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as his hand flew to his pocket where a cube shaped lump was.
Kane pulled a velvet box out of his pocket before dropping down to one knee.
My eyes widened in realization and my hands flew to my face to stop myself from screaming. I stuttered out, "K-Kane."
"I know we're only nineteen, but you're the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with," he started.
"Pretty Brown Eyes, I love you so much it's unexplainable. I-"
"Yes," I interrupted.
"You didn't let me finish my amazing speech," Kane laughed before opening the box to reveal a beautiful, unique ring. The oval shaped stone was held in place by miniature, golden flowers with small diamonds in the middle.
I tackled the love of my life to the ground before planting a passionate kiss on his lips.
Kane flipped me over so he was on top of me before asking, "So you'll marry me?"
"Hell yeah," I answered before kissing him again.
"Get a room, lovebirds!" Sabrina remarked.
The two of us picked ourselves up before Kane slipped the ring on my finger.
"Do you want some coffee?" Kane asked.
"I just want to go home," I told him before smirking at him and sending a quick wink.
"Oh, yeah," he laughed while yanking me towards the door.
"Bye, everyone! we shouted before exiting.
The moment we stepped outside, Kane swept me off my feet and pecked my lips.
"Let's go to the pond, Pretty Brown Eyes," he suggested while putting me in his car.
"Yeah. I'm sure Snickers won't mind," I laughed as he pulled out of the parking lot and sped away.
