' we're fucked up either way. '
—CELENA WILSON OPENED HER EYES. In a literal sense. Not metaphorically. It took her a solid 3 minutes and 23 seconds to realize where she was. And who was holding her.
Celena blinked as her eyes met Jason Grace's blue eyes. The infinite shades of the sky were tempting Celena to just fall into them. For Celena, it would take an eternity to reach the depth of his beautiful electric blue eyes.
"Celena," Jason whispered, as if he was trying not to break the comfortable atmosphere. Celena exhaled, her eyes glancing his lips. Was it weird for her to want to trace the small scar on his upper lip with her finger? Jason leaned forward, his heavy breath fanning out on Celena's face, warming it. Celena caught the faint smell of the bagel on his breath.
One of Jason's warm hands left her hands to brush back her grey lock of hair behind her ear. He skimmed his fingers down to her cheek from her ear and cupped it. Celena leaned into it subconsciously, closing her eyes. It was like his hand was made for holding her cheek. Jason brushed his thumb on her cheek, tracing the scar gently, like he was afraid that touching it would bring back the pain.
And it did.
Celena's eyes shot open and she jumped away, scrambling out of the way to get out of his arms. Almost instantly she missed his warmth but she ignored it. Celena stood up, swaying for a moment from the sudden movement.
This...thing between them has to stop. Before someone gets hurt. Or worse, killed.
Celena turned away from Jason and clenched her fists. "Get some rest, Jason." She walked away from him, going up to her room. Each step was harder than the last.
At last Celena reached her room. She stepped inside and locked the door. Celena slid down to the floor and leaned against the wall with her back to it. Her hand started to fiddle with the lone bracelet on her wrist as she closed her eyes.

—NATALIE BISHOP WAS 8 YEARS OLD WHEN SHE MET CELENA WILSON. At first, they were apprehensive of each other. They would call each other names that would make an 8 year old recoil in shock. They would spew 8 year old mean names until their faces turned red and they were out of breath. It wasn't until Chiron forced them into a room together (leaving a poor, innocent Annabeth in the room as a chaperone) that they became wary friends. The were the type of friends who would have each others' backs during an attack but would wage a war if they stole each others' breakfasts. Most of the time, it was Natalie who won, although Celena claimed she cheated because Natalie used her powers to make the grass and the weeds trip her. Celena hated how she was the daughter of Demeter sometimes.
