' it's just dying. '
—CELENA WILSON ONCE WAS AFRAID OF EAGLES. It was a silly fear that she quickly grew out of but for 7 year old, that was horrible fear. And to be fair, if she wasn't visited by a whore—sorry, Apollo—she wouldn't have had the fear. Apollo the idiot decided that he was going to give her an angry eagle as a gift for being his sister's adoptive daughter.
The eagle hated her the moment they met and as soon as the eagle made eye contact with her, it screeched a dived right on to her. Celena shrieked and tried to pull the pecking bird away from her. Apollo, on the other hand, left, saying he had to tend to his cows.
It took a laughing Mr. D and a very concerned Chiron to pull the eagle away. From then on, Celena was wary of eagles. Chiron tried to assure her that no eagle was going to kill her but a 7 year old Celena was paranoid. And Mr. D laughing about it was no help whatsoever.
Now, as Celena glared at the skinny asshole who's the legacy of Apollo (figures, considering Apollo is also an eternal jerk), the eagles squawked as they circled the three halfbloods and mortal, bringing back the irrational fear.
Halfway across the dock, three giant eagles descended in front of them. Each deposited a Roman commando in purple and denim with glittering gold armor, sword, and shield. The eagles flew away, and the Roman in the middle, who was scrawnier than the others, raised his visor. Celena groaned as she recognized the skinny bastard.
Octavian started shriek something but the sea drowned out his voice. When Celena got back onto the ship, she was going to thank Poseidon for ruling the sea/oceans. He deserves it.
"What?" Celena yelled back. She pointed to her ear and made a thumbs down. Then she pointed to the sea and another thumbs down.
"Su...me!" He shrieked again. Celena was so confused. She looked at Hazel, Annabeth, and Piper who looked just as confused as her.
"Is he saying 'sue me?'" Celena asked them. They shrugged. "I would sue him."
Celena faced Octavian again. "What? Can you say that again?" Celena did the whole hand-ear-bad signal again. She saw Octavian take a deep breath and Celena snorted.
"Surrender to Rome!" Octavian cried. The girls ah'd in unison as they looked at each other, pointing at a very flustered Octavian. Celena snickered to herself until she realized what he said. Then she turned to the other girls who realized it at the same time.
