—why do you want to be famous—
' if that ever happens again, can you knock me out with the brick? '
—CELENA WILSON WAS SURE HER UNCLE WANTED TO KILL HER. He always did the opposite of what she wanted. If she didn't want to hold a bow and arrow, he would train her with a spear. If she didn't want to help him break one of Hermes' things, he would make her hand them to him so that he could (he said it was payback for stealing some cows. WHAT IS IT WITH GODS AND COWS?!). If she didn't want to drive the bus, he made her drive the fucking bus. If she didn't want to be alive, he wouldn't listen and healed her.
And right now, he was trying to blind her while she tried to push her way forward to Argo II. The forum was in utter chaos. Ever since the ship launched an attack on New Rome, the Romans had turned against the Greeks, including Percy, Celena, and Jason (Celena wasn't sure if Jason considered himself a Greek). The crowds were pushing and shoving and fistfights were breaking out. Things were flying in the air and Celena ducked to avoid a broken steel cup, barely glancing at her reflection in that cup.
"Oh fuck you Apollo! I'm trying to survive here!" she screamed at the sun. The sun did not answer her, probably because it was blasting AC/DC at volume ten right now.
A plate clattered loudly next to her and she jumped, grabbing the something next to her without even looking at it.
She laughed at herself, looking to her right. The Roman holding her was also laughing. She pointed to the plate that stilled and they both laughed again. Celena suddenly stopped laughing to look at him. She blinked at him. He blinked at her. Then they both scrambled to get away from each other. Celena punched him in the nose and plunged into the crowd, pushing her way out to the other side.
Celena, realizing that she had weapons to use, yanked off her bracelet on her left wrist. The moon charms shifted and morphed together as the bracelet transformed into a glittery silver shield. On the front of it was 8 pictures that represented the moon's stories.
She slammed the shield into a Roman's stomach, yelling a quick, "Fuck! Sorry!" to them before running toward the ship. She didn't dare use the edge against the people, despite their attacks on her. They had provided food and weapons for her as well as a place to sleep. Celena would never do anything to hurt them for that.
Celena dodged the hands of a Roman and whacked the Roman over her head with the shield. She cursed the gods names as she tried to find an opening to the ship. Then she found it. A seemingly open route to the ship. If she took it, she can hop on board and see why the ship was acting this way.
