—i'm...uh...going crazy, i guess—
' i accidentally burned may's house. '
—CELENA WILSON HAD A NEWFOUND HATRED FOR WORM POOP. To be more specific, she really hated Gaea. While she was "drowning" in Achelous's river (that...sounded wrong to Celena...), she had this dream with the dirt queen herself. And now, she was having the same dream.
Celena was standing next to a lot of lit candles. And mirrors. She frowns, looking around the empty house. She walks away from the candles and heads to the living room. The first thing she notices is the small statue of Hermes on top of the mantle. Shit. Shit. Shit. Celena knew where she was now.
Luke Castellan's house.
She reached for her bracelet, only to find that it was never there. Holy fuck. She backed away from the living room, bumping into several candles. Celena shook her head, as if she was trying to rid herself of this dream. Fire erupted
She bolted to the door, opening it and stepping outside. Celena tried to breathe but it was like something was clogging her airways. No. She can't be here. She's been here once with Percy, Nico, and Mrs. O'Leary. That first time, however, made her feel sick. Celena wanted to throw up. It could be from shame; she couldn't stop Luke from helping...him. It could be from guilt; she didn't visit May to tell her of her son's death. It could be from sadness; she didn't want to see the pictures of her dead friend anymore.
Celena sunk to the ground, trying to calm her racing heart. At this rate, she was sure her heart was going to rip out of her chest and ran a marathon.
"Hello Celena," Celena paused, her breath caught in her lungs. "It just occurred to me that I've never spoken to you personally."
Celena stood quickly, raising her fists like she was going to fight some flowers and dirt.
"Come now, child. That won't be necessary." Gaea laughed softly.
Celena growled, "Get out of my fucking head."
Gaea laughed again. Celena tried to back away but it was like her feet were rooted to the ground.
"Celena, when will you learn?" Gaea taunts her. "Join me and we can unlock your true potential."
Celena scoffs. "Yeah, that's what your idiotic son said." Celena smirked at the ground. "Then we killed him."
She let out a yelp when the ground dragged her underneath it. Her knees were below the earth. Everything was quiet, except for the swing creaking nearby. The wind stopped howling and for a moment, Celena thought she smelt the drakon that killed Natalie.
