Ravenpaw awoke to Flamepaw limping back into the Apprentices den, yet he was unscratched. I wonder what happened. He thought. Maybe Flamepaw was almost drowned? It's something Foxstar would do.
But why didn't he kill him? Usually Foxstar kills anyone that disobeys him. Maybe he favorites Flamepaw. I might as well ask what happened. He thought.
"Are you okay Flamepaw?" Asked Ravenpaw curiously. Flamepaw looked at him with a terrified look.
"It was big." Flamepaw replied grimly. "I don't see how it fit."
"What?" Both Winterpaw and Ravenpaw meowed it at the same time. Flamepaw's back leg was being avoided, yet it was untouched.
"Foxstar said my apprenticeship will be longer now. Yours will be shortened. I. Hate. You." Flamepaw went to his mossy nest before lying down and sleeping.
"Weird," Winterpaw was saying before they heard Foxstar yowl, "Clan meeting!"
Flamepaw, Ravenpaw and Winterpaw trotted out to the middle of the clearing, while Flamepaw sat next to Dazzlestone and Dustclaw. Winterpaw and Ravenpaw sat next to Hornetclaw, who also sat with Ottercloud.
"It's time for Ravenpaw and Winterpaw to be warriors. This might be a bit early, but who cares, right?" Hornetclaw looked confused. It was a whole two moons early! (Note: in my clans they become warriors at 12 moons)
Hornetclaw was about to object before Foxstar continued. "Ravenpaw and Winterpaw, please step forward."
They both slowly walked forward, both confused on how they became warriors without even getting an assessment! Was it against the code? Foxstar wouldn't care anyways. He just does what he wants.
"Winterpaw. You have been a fine apprentice, training well with both hunting and fighting. From this day forward, you will be known as Winterstone. StarClan honors your courage and loyalty." Foxstar touched noses with the new warrior, before turning to Ravenpaw.
"Ravenpaw. You have done a lot of hunting for this clan, and we honor you for it. From this day forward, you will be known as Ravenwing. StarClan honors your skills and strength." Foxstar would touch noses with Ravenwing, looking calm and content.
"The gathering is over. Both Winterstone and Ravenwing will sit their vigil for the night." Announced Foxstar before stalking off to his den. Ottercloud and Hornetclaw muttered to each other, Dustclaw and Dazzlestone following Flamepaw to the fresh-kill pile to eat and talk, while mantisfoot goes to his den.
Doveheart went back to the nursery, since she was expecting kits, while Spiderfang, Sorrelheart and Grasshopperflight went to the warriors den together, chattering.
Ravenwing would sit his vigil, feeling like he was accepted in the clan.
