Ryu Yeseul
───────────

You know when you have done something super embarrassing and your mind keeps reminding you of it? That's the ongoing battle between me and my head right now. All I want is to forget last night like it never happened, but I'm not allowed to forget it. It's gonna be a core memory soon if it keeps looking like this.

And I would rather not have a core memory of me being stupid enough to kiss two princes at one night. And, one of them happened to be the Prince of Hearts, who now can control my heart if he wanted.

I ended up leaving the ball right after the kiss with Prince Heeseung. I had no other choice but to leave because I didn't want to ruin my life more than I already had.

Since I left early, did I have to sneak up to my room so my mother wouldn't notice. I fear she would be disappointed if she found out I left early. I hate lying to my mother, even if it's just white lies.

My mother is downstairs in our store. She still has that wide smile and yellow aura around her. I would rather avoid the topic of last night as much as possible. But I don't want my mother to be suspicious. I also would like to get to know Prince of Hearts more.

"Mother?" I said as I walked up to her.

"What is it?" She asked.

"How familiar are you with the term Prince of Hearts?" I asked back.

My mother's eyes widened, and then broke eye contact with me. She started to look around the store as if she was desperate to find something that could distract her from me and my question.

"I'm not sure. Where did you hear that?" She replied.

"From last night. I heard some people talk about it," I lied.

My mother continued to avoid eye contact with me by looking around the store. It's my first time seeing her like this. I can't help but wonder why my mother doesn't want to tell me. It's obvious she knows but doesn't want to share it.

The bell rang as someone opened the door. I looked over and saw Jay walking in. He still looks as proud and satisfied as he always does. A part of me hoped last night would be the first, last, and only time I met him. But his showing up the day after doesn't surprise me at all.

"Good morning, madam. I would like to speak with your daughter. We had a lovely meeting last night at the ball," Jay said with a smile.

"Of course! I will go upstairs so you two can talk by yourselves," My mother replied.

I waited until she reached upstairs before I started my conversation with Jay.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"Something is gonna happen here soon, and I want to witness it with my own eyes," Jay answered while he walked around the store.

"I thought you were gonna leave me alone and alive after I kissed Prince Heeseung?" I questioned.

"But, you are wrong," Jay replied with a smirk.

The bell rang again. And this time, someone more unexpectedly walked in. Prince Heeseung.

Are they about to reveal their plan I already knew about but still decided to listen to? That I am just another stupid person who fell for their joke?

"Ryu Yeseul, that's your name, right?" Prince Heeseung asked me.

"Yes?" I answered.

Suddenly, he held both of my hands and was staring deeply into my eyes.

"You are the one. All I needed was one kiss from you, and I knew you were the one," Prince Heeseung said with a wide smile.

I ended up looking back at Jay to see his reaction. His facial expressions weren't much of a reaction. I looked back at Prince Heeseung, whose eyes were sparkling during our eye contact.

"This must be a mistake, I'm sorry," I said and tried to walk away.

"Falling in love is never a mistake," Prince Heeseung quickly replied and pulled me closer.

"I would like to invite you to the castle tonight. My parents would like to meet you," He added.

I nodded. It was the only type of response I could give him. Prince Heeseung kissed my hand as a goodbye and then walked out of the store.

Right after the door was closed, I heard Jay's footsteps behind me. He was ready to leave the store as well.

"And where are you going?" I asked him while I grabbed his arm to stop him from waking.

"Out. Believe it or not, but I have better things to do than being with you all day, " Jay answered.

I let go of his arm and watched him walk away. I know for sure this is not going to be our last meeting, and the next one will happen sooner than I expect.
