Fade Into You (Miguel O'hara x reader)

Nine

Y/n spotted the woods, dashing towards them as Miguel sprinted out of the warehouse. She felt something stick to her back, then pull her back roughly. One of Miguel's webs dragged her on the floor, she grabbed it, struggling to pull it off. 

A large body got on top of her, Miguel pinned her arms down, trying to get the gadget held tightly in her fisted hand. Y/n groaned, struggling to fight his strength, even though it was obvious he was going easy on her- not wanting to actually do her any harm. Energy surged to her chest, she released it, knocking him off of her and getting up. 

She ran to the woods, seeing the Sun setting through the trees. She hoped Miguel was still recovering from the hit earlier, but her hopes were crushed when he jumped at her from a tree, causing her to roll down a small hill. The gizmo fell out of her hands, rolling down with her. 

She witnessed the gizmo be taken by a red web as she lay on the floor, she quickly sprung up, seeing Miguel swinging through the trees. She aimed her hands up, releasing all of the energy she could build up in that moment. Miguel fell out of the trees, Y/n witnessed the gizmo fall as well, quickly grabbing it with magic and returning it into her hands. 

Y/n ran further, hiding behind a thick tree to catch her breathe. She heard Miguel's faint foot steps, she stopped breathing through her mouth, hoping that he wouldn't find her. 

"Y/n..." He calls, now fully healed from the fall. "Come back to me, she's here." Concern laced her voice, Y/n's eyebrows drew together. 

By she, Y/n knew Miguel was talking about Lilith. But, it couldn't be. How would Lilith be here? "He must be lying." She thought to herself. Just then the gizmo goes off with a notification, Y/n's eyes widen, attempting to shut the watch off. 

She hears Miguel run towards her, before she could react, he wraps his arms around her waist, taking her down with a grunt. 

She landed a knee to his chest, peeling him off of her as she stood. He got up at the same time as her, a beige orb had shone in one of her hands. She threw the orb at him, he crossed his arms in front of him, stepping back slightly from the impact. 

She summoned another orb, throwing it at him again. He rolled on the ground, dodging it. He ducked under one of her arms, holding her in a chokehold and having the other arm wrapped tightly around her waist. "Stop this." He whispered, Y/n could feel his breathe fan onto her ear.

 She struggled to get out of the hold until she sent an energy ball through herself, it came out her back and ripped Miguel off of her. She quickly ran deeper into the woods, hearing Miguel yell: "No!"

As Y/n kept running, her whole body glitched. She fell to the ground in pain, holding her stomach as she felt herself being deconstructed. She sucked it in, using her magic to pull herself back together. 

Y/n saw Miguel's figure, running the same direction. The girl paused as she noticed the whole scenery change. The green leaves began to turn grey and fall, the ground covered with snow, and the lake before her froze. Y/n's jaw dropped as she realized that Miguel wasn't lying, and she had just ran straight into a hex, dragging him in as well. He wasn't trying to stop her, he was trying to warn her. 

It was one of the most dangerous things Lilith could do, she could easily control the two of them. Y/n looked back, not knowing whether to run from Miguel or just give in. But she was stubborn, she knew she had powers stronger than Lilith's, she was just unsure of how to use them. 

She ran over to the middle of the lake, mostly sliding since ice was slippery. She got to the middle, almost falling down. Miguel easily ran across, his spider feet kept him from slipping.
