Angelica gasped out, a name leaving her lips in an anguished breath, sweat coating her foreheads and tears pooling in her eyes at the wretched memories from a life she wasn't even sure was real until she had landed her eyes on her love from another life sitting at the bar looking like a dream.

"Fuck." She whispered to herself as she tried to collect herself, raising her hand to wipe away the sweat on her forehead and fan her face.

Her heart was still racing from the contents of the dream she had. She could still feel the weight of a body on her lap, her hands feeling clammy with blood that wasn't actually there and her heart crumbling at the feeling of holding Violet's dead body for hours.

But most of all she had died. And she remembered what that felt like.

She remembered the first time she started having these dreams. She was 8 years old and started catching glimpses of her in that village and for the first few weeks, the dreams were simply her living an everyday life with her father who couldn't support them.

Then when she turned 9 she had her first dream with Violet. She was confused because everyone who was in her dreams were people she already knew in the current life she was living and she had heard once that you can't dream of people you haven't met yet.

It wasn't like Violet was just someone who appeared once or twice in her dreams, after the first dream of Violet she became the focus of every dream after that.

Angelica will never forget the feeling she had when she was 16 years old and woke up screaming because she thought she had died. Her dad had stormed into her room and she crumbled into his arms crying so hard she couldn't breathe anymore, grieving for someone she hadn't ever truly met and for herself.

After that, the dreams had stopped.

She never dreamt of that life or of Violet anymore and she had seen psychologists about it but no one could help her figure out what triggered these dreams and what caused them to suddenly disappear.

The years passed, but the empty ache in her chest never left her, not until she found Violet in the bar. It was so hard for her not to crumble at Violet's feet but she could tell that to Violet, Angelica was a complete stranger.

Angelica didn't know what exactly was going on, but after years of visiting all sorts of people, she came to the conclusion that past lives do exist and that she may be one of those people who remembered it through dreams.

She could have convinced herself that she was deluding herself but after meeting Violet, she was sure that what she had seen in her dreams had been real at another time.

Last night was the first time in years that she had a dream of that life again and she hated that she had to relive watching the person she loves die.

And it had to be today, of all days.
