Violet garbled out a hurried goodbye to a confused Vick, promising to finish the eyeliner next time and hurried over to the car, opening the door to the passenger side of the car and sliding in, turning around to face her roommate.

Angelica had already started the car and as soon as Violet was buckled in she drove away from the bar. Her hands were clutching the wheel so tightly that her knuckles turned white and she didn't even bother to look at Violet.

"Angie, are you okay?" Violet asked gently, not knowing how to handle this situation at all.

"I'm fine," Angelica replied, before repeating her earlier words. "I didn't mean to interrupt."

"There was nothing to interrupt." Violet clarified and that's when Angelica turned to briefly make eye contact with Violet, her eyes catching on to the unfinished eye makeup and then turned her gaze back towards the road. "Vick, my coworker was just putting eyeliner on me because I complimented hers."

"Oh," Angelica mumbled. "It looks nice."

Violet's stomach churned, Angelica still sounded distraught and she didn't know what to make of it. Was Angelica really upset because she saw Vick standing so close to Violet or was it something else? Was Violet mistaken?

"I..." Angelica started but then she stopped and rolled her lips into her mouth as if preventing herself from talking.

"Hm? What is it?" Violet gently prodded and Angelica sighed heavily before mumbling, "I...I know how to do eyeliner like that too. I know other ways too. I want to show you, I mean, if you're interested in things like that."

Violet blinked.

And then she blinked again. Had she heard that right? She turned to look at Angelica and her eyes widened when she saw how red Angelica's ears were. Was she blushing?

Oh my god.

"I'd love that, Angie." Violet smiled brightly and Angelica smiled back, her ears still red but her shoulders falling, as if the tension was slowly melting away.

When they arrived home, Violet immediately disappeared into her room to take a hot shower and wash the smell of booze off her body. When she was done she quickly got dressed in her matching pink sweat suit, wrapped her hair in a towel and went to find a midnight snack in the kitchen.

She didn't expect to find Angelica, with her hair down now, still dressed in a large sweatshirt and sleep shorts, shredding some cheese.

"What're you doing?" Violet asked peering behind Angelica to at look what was heating up on the stove, her stomach grumbling when the smell of pasta hit her nose.

"I made pasta after work so I'm just heating it and shredding cheese for you, you like cheese right?" Angelica asked and Violet nodded with a thankful grin.
