Violet went through her two lectures of the day with a dazed mind. She took notes without really comprehending what she was writing, and she listened to her professors without actually listening to them. All she could truly hear were Angelica's words playing in her mind over and over again.

Her words were practically a confession.

Angelica, her rich roommate whom Violet was sure was straight, had confessed to her. She bought her brunch, held her hand, kissed her forehead and confessed to her. Oh god, what was she supposed to do now?

She was obviously attracted to Angelica since the moment she saw her but Violet wasn't exactly the...relationship type of girl. She was the hook-up for a few weeks before moving on. She was hyper fixate on someone or something for a short while before her attention was stolen by someone or something else.

She hadn't really ever truly had genuine feelings for anyone that could end up with her falling in love because love scared the fuck out of her. How was she supposed to trust someone with her heart completely and not expect them to break it when it was so easy to do? All they had to do was break their promise, stop feeling the same way for her or simply leave her. Could she really risk herself falling in love only for her person to leave her in the end? And if that person was Angelica what would she do? Angelica had somehow pushed past so many of Violet's walls and she really didn't want to lose the bond they already have.

What if everything went to shit and Violet ruined their relationship and forced Angelica to kick her out? What would she do then? What if-

"Violet!"

Violet looked up just as a grape was thrown from across the table. She blinked up at Aaliyah in confusion and mumbled "Huh?"

"Don't huh me. I've been trying to get your attention for so long and you've just been staring at your textbook with this really creepy look." Aaliyah said and Violet winced in embarrassment.

"Sorry... I'm just lost in my thoughts." Violet said, her words getting lost in the hundreds of other voices that were speaking in one of the study rooms of their university. She decided to join Aaliyah for half an hour before she had to go to work to get some work done but as expected none got done, with the confession still in mind.

"Care to share?" Aaliyah asked with a kind smile and Violet couldn't help but open her mouth and tell Aaliyah what was on her mind.

When she was done putting her anxiety and insecurities into words she already felt slightly better.

"Oh wow.." Aaliyah said with wide eyes as she processed it all before thinking of what she could say to make her friend feel better. "But Violet, won't these thoughts always be there till the rest of your life? Your fears are completely valid but you can't let them always stop you from entering a relationship. You can't be sure that your partner will always be good to you but if you like them and you want to give this a shot then go for it. You don't have to jump to the I love you stage immediately, you can take it slow and see if she's as invested as you are in this. Take it one step at a time and I'm sure you'll be okay."
