Luna woke up before Joon, the brightness of the sun coming through the blinds enough to wake her up. She was extremely warm as his body was practically encasing hers, but comfortable still. Just when she was thinking she could lie their all day, her stomach growled. Her body had quickly reminded her she hadn't eaten dinner the night before. She had every intention of letting Joon sleep until that moment. Now, he definitely had to wake up.
She turns in his arms and he stirs a little in his sleep, adjusting to the new position. She finds herself even more stuck as both his wrap back around her and she's pulled against his chest.
"Joonie," she giggles before kissing his chest, right over his heart.
He stirs again, but doesn't wake. She rakes her nails up and down his back as she calls his name and that seems to do the trick, earning a sleepy "huh?" from him.
"I'm hungry," she whines, and he lets out a sleepy chuckle, squeezing her tight.
"I'm hungry," he mocks, jumping when she pinches his butt.
"Oh so that's funny to you?" she asks as she pinches him all over.
"Okay, okay! What do you want?" he exclaims, letting go of her and laying on his back as he dodges her hands.
"We're going to grandmas. She should be up and getting ready to cook by now," she bounces excitedly as she glances over at the clock.
"So get that ass in motion boy," she grins, crawling across him to get out of bed.
He shakes his head and rakes a hand down his face, fond smile in place. He finds it adorable how excited she always is to see her grandma and to eat as well. She's such a foodie, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't excited as well. Her breakfast looks next level, but he hadn't had a chance to taste it yet.
He and Luna play around in the bathroom, having an all out water war after he splashed her at the sink while they were brushing their teeth. Once his stomach growled aloud, they stopped, tag teaming the cleaning with two big towels before getting dressed. He loves it how they can still have genuine fun after working things out. Neither of them were secretly holding on to any residual hard feelings and they were truly fine. He didn't have to check to tell because Luna's guard was down today.
"You know you don't have to do that—keep your guard down for my sake right?" he says as they set out on the walk across to her grandmother's house.
"I know Joon. Maybe you haven't noticed when we're all together, but in personal settings, it's almost always down. In public, I'd rather put it up because feeling your emotions too can be a distraction from what I'm actually feeling. What Mrs. Kang said about us keeping our individualism really resonated with me. I don't want to be so comfortable in letting you feel for me that I forget to do it for myself. Losing myself is one of my biggest fears," she says, grabbing his hand and swinging them between them as they walked.
"I didn't notice—you know there always a lot happening up here," he says, tapping his temple, "but that makes a lot of sense. Your fear is valid. It's something we all feared at one point. It's just newer for you, so I apologize for feeling a way about it yesterday. You don't have to share your emotions. None of you should have to if you don't want to. That was an insecurity on my part and I intend to work on that," he says, looking over at her seriously.
"Thank you for being vulnerable with me. I understand you were upset yesterday, but eventually, this would have had to be addressed anyways. I'm sure you're not the only one who would have reacted like that. Your feelings were valid, but the place they came from is what needs to be discussed. I think it's worth addressing in our next group therapy session. For now, let's just enjoy our time here," she replies, bumping his shoulder playfully as her grandmother's house comes into sight. There was a nice, but unfamiliar Cadillac car out front behind her grandma's.
