MCLAREN HEADQUATRES, SILVERSTONE
Walking into the McLaren headquarters seemed like a dream than a reality to Lilianna. She knew she was a step closer to achieving her dream and if she nailed this interview, then she had the job of her dreams. At reception she is met by a member of staff who shows her to Zak's office. After informing the CEO that Lilianna was here for her interview, he tells the receptionist to send her straight in.
"Good morning, Mr. Brown. Thank you for having me here today." Lilianna smiles as she holds her hand out. "Good morning, Lilianna. It's great to have you here. So, tell me a little bit about yourself." Zak shakes her hand as they sit down and begin the interview. "Well, I graduated from university 2 years ago where I studied Marketing, Communication, and Business. I've been searching for a job for the past two years, and during that time, I've become a social media influencer." Lilianna says as the interview gets underway.
"That's impressive. What kind of content do you create as an influencer?" Zak asks. "I focus on lifestyle and fashion, but I also like to share my experiences as a working mother. Speaking of which, I do have one condition for this job. I have a five-year-old daughter named Isla-Rose, and I need to be able to balance my work and family life." Lilianna informs the CEO. "Of course, family is important. We value work-life balance here at McLaren. We can definitely accommodate your needs. Now, let's talk about your qualifications. What skills do you bring to the table?" Zak nods before asking.
"Well, I have experience in social media management, content creation, and event planning. I'm also a quick learner and a team player." Lilianna speaks with confidence. "Those are all great skills to have. Tell me, why do you want to work for McLaren?" Zak asks, noting down what Lilianna says. "I've always been interested in motorsports, and McLaren is a prestigious brand with a rich history in the industry. I also admire the team's commitment to innovation and excellence." Lilianna warmly smiles.
"I'm glad to hear that. We're always looking for talented individuals who share our passion for racing. I think you would be a great fit for our media team." Zak speaks. "Thank you, Mr. Brown. I'm excited about the opportunity to work for McLaren and contribute to the team's success." Lilianna smiles. "Excellent. We'll be in touch soon regarding the next steps. Thank you for coming in today, Lilianna." Zak says, standing up with hand held out. "Thank you, Mr. Brown. It was a pleasure to meet you." Lilianna shakes his hand before Zak shows her out of his office.
"Oh, hi again." the voice of Lando Norris says behind the girl. "Oh, hi. Lando, right?" Lilianna asks, trying to remember the boys name. "It is indeed. Lilianna?" Lando asks, making sure he got the girls name right. "Yes. How are you?" Lilianna smiles, a brief hug being exchanged between them. "I'm good. And you?" Lando asks. "A step closer to getting a full time job. So, I'm good." Lilianna smiles. "A job here?" Lando asks, surprised. "Yeah. Unreal, isn't it." Lilianna chuckles. "Get used to it. Before you know it, you'll be living in Monaco with a few of us." Lando jokes as Lilianna laughs.
"Lets see what the future holds." Lily smiles before Lando nods and continues to walk towards the garage while Lilianna heads towards the exit. The next few weeks were definitely going to be nerve wracking for Lily.
A FEW WEEKS LATER
"Dear Lilianna McNair,
We are proud to confirm that you have secured the job of a media team member at McLaren F1. Your duties will primarily include creating Instagram and YouTube content for our team and participating in videos with Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. We appreciate your passion for motorsports and your dedication to creating innovative media content.
We are excited to have you join our team and look forward to working with you. As a member of our media team, you will help us reach new heights in terms of social media engagement and content creation.

Lilianna jumped for joy when she read the email. "What's got you so excited?" Dael asks, walking in. He was visiting Lilianna and Isla during the football off season. "I got the job with McLaren." Lilianna smiles as Dael hugs her. "Lily, that's amazing! congratulations!" he says, tightly hugging the girl. "Thank you. I get to go to F1 races with all expenses paid for." Lilianna smiles. Dael know the girl's love for formula 1. "You deserve this Lily. You're getting what you deserve." Dael smiles as Lilianna laughs while having a wide smile on her face.
Once she told Paddy her news, Lilianna checked when her first race was. "We have to celebrate." Dael suggests as Lilianna and Paddy agree. "What about a meal then we can bring Isla too. But, make sure it's somewhere where we can get drinks." Lilianna nods.
The three get ready at the same time as Lilianna gets Isla ready. Heading to a popular Yarm restaurant, the four walk in and are immediately shown to a table. "So, what's next? A move to Monaco to live the true F1 lifestyle." Dael jokes as he, Paddy and Lilianna laughs. "Time will tell, Dael." Lilianna smiles.
The three orders their food while Lilianna also orders Isla some pasta. It was normal for Dael to join you, Isla and Paddy for a meal. He was like another brother to her and immediately made Lily feel welcome when she joined Paddy in Middlesbrough following his summer transfer from Sunderland.
At the end of the day, you and Paddy bid Dael goodbye while Isla was asleep on Paddy's shoulder. The 5-year-old fell asleep before they even left the restaurant. When they got home, Paddy immediately put Isla to bed while you got ready yourself. "She's down for the night now." Paddy says as he sat beside Lilianna on her bed. "Thank god. It's been a long day for sure." Lilianna laughed. "For sure. I'm just excited about the next grand prix which I'll be at." Lilianna smiles. "Does that Max guy know about your job at McLaren?" Paddy asks. "Not yet. I'm going to surprise him at the next race when I'm wearing a McLaren shirt." Lilianna smiles. "Bet he'll love it." Paddy chuckles as does his younger sister
An hour or so later, the two siblings headed to bed. By her bedroom door, the two hugged each other tightly before heading into their bedrooms. Before she heads back into hers, Lilianna checks on Isla who is fast asleep in her bed, clutching tightly onto her stitch teddy.
A/N: My boy did it! Lando finished his home race on the podium for the first time in P2. So close for Oscar but the safety car came at an unfortunate time after K-Mag's care decided to give up and add some drama. But overall, I'm super happy for Lando and very glad I got to watch it 🧡
Two week break before Hungary on the 19th-21st of July. Hopefully, some more big points for McLaren.
