Chapter 46

SUMMER BREAK

With summer break now in full swing, the majority of the F1 drivers despersed onto a much needed vaction or family time. However, a holiday away wasn't possible for Max, Lilianna and Isla with baby boy's due date fast approaching. Isla and Max were playing in the pool with Lilianna laid on the sun lounger while her ice cold water beside her. Over the last couple of days, Lilianna had been experiencing a few contractions but they were a couple of hours apart.

The Northern-Irish girl looks to the pool where Max is picking Isla up and throwing her in the water. Lilianna chuckles as she watches the pair. The contractions were still coming but they were still far apart. Isla stayed in the pool as Max get out and grabbed his towel off his sunbed. "How's baby boy?" Max smiled. He's been aware that Lilianna has been having contractions and is making sure she is okay every now and then. "He's getting ready to come but the contractions are still quite far apart." Lilianna smiles as Max rests his hand on her stomach as he sits beside her.

"How far are they?" Max asks. "45 minutes. Once they're about 10/15 minutes apart or my waters break then we go to the hospital." Lilianna smiles as Max nods in agreement. "So it could be late to early tomorrow." Max smiles enthusiastically. "Yep. Baby boy could be here soon." Lilianna smiles. The couple continue to talk before Isla joins them. "How about we go in and get something to eat?" Max suggests, looking between Lilianna and Isla. The little girl immediately nods at the idea of food. "Alright, lets go." Max smiles, putting his sliders on as Isla puts her on.

The pair head inside the house as Lilianna carefully gets up and follows them in. The girl could feel the contractions slowly getting stronger and closer together. Lilianna follows Max and Isla into the house. Just as she walked in, the girl felt a splash between her legs. "Uh, Max." Lilianna calls to him. The dutchman returns to the backdoor after placing Isla on a stool. "What's wrong?" Max asks. "I think the baby is on the way. My waters have just broke." Lilianna breathes. "Oh, okay. We're going to go change and grab the stuff and we'll head to the hospital." Max remains calm, surprising Lilianna.

"What about Isla?" Lilianna asks, Max helping her to the bedroom and getting her changed. "We'll have to bring her. I'm sure there's somewhere that the staff can be with her." Max reassures Lilianna who nods as she watches him get changed. "I'll quickly go and help Isla get changed and then we'll head to the hospital." Max reassures Lilianna. The soon-to-be dad runs out and grabs Isla to help her get changed.

THE HOSPITAL

After arriving and being set up into a room, Lilianna laid on the bed gently running her hand over her bump. Max had taken Isla to the restaurant to get some food and to allow Lilianna to have a nap. "Isla, do you want to know what me and mummy have decided to name your brother?" Max asks his daughter as he sat across from the little girl. "Yes!" Isla giggles. "Okay. So me and mummy have agreed on calling your little brother Nathan but we can call him Nate for short." Max smiles. "I love it. It's really cute. So his full name will be Nathan Verstappen?" Isla asks causing Max to chuckle.

"His full name will be Nathan George Verstappen." Max smiles. "That's so adorable, daddy." Isla smiles. "It is. Come on, lets get back to Mummy." Max smiles, standing up and taking Isla's hand into his.  The pair head back to Lilianna's hospital room where the young mum was still asleep. "We have to be quiet so mummy can continue to prepare for baby brother." Max smiles as Isla nods. He walks over to the chair and sits in the corner of the room and lifts Isla onto his lap. The little girl cuddles into his chest and he gently runs his hand over her hair.
