Chapter 30

ENGLAND

Following the final win of the season, Lilianna decided to head back to England with Isla and surprise Paddy at one of his game. Max had even agreed to accompany them to the game. "So, where's the game being held?" Max asks. "The Riverside Stadium. It's the home ground where the Boro lads play." Lilianna smiles, strapping Isla into her booster seat in the back of the car. "You're taking me to watch a football game?" Max asks, sitting in the front passenger seat. "Indeed we are. You better get ready too because we're going to see my brother after the match." Lilianna smiles.

Max's eyes widen in shock. "Your brother?" he asks, questionably. "Yeah. Are you scared?" Lilianna noticed the uncomfortable look on Max's face. "What? Me? Scared? Never." Max stutters as Lilianna chuckles. "Don't worry. He's harmless." Lilianna smiles, placing a reassuring hand on Max's shoulder. She feels the tension in his shoulders ease under her touch.

The three make their way to the stadium and already see it buzzling with fans of both teams. "Are we in the stadium stands?" Max asks. "Not really. We go into reception and go up to hospitality. We have seats outside but can enjoy the game inside too." Lilianna smiles, parking her car. She and Max get out the front before Lilianna goes to the back and helps Isla get out the car. "Are we going to get to see uncle paddy?" Isla asks. "Yeah. We are baby." Lilianna smiles, taking Isla's hand in hers.

INSIDE THE STADIUM

"Okay. Here are your tickets, enjoy the game." the receptionist smiled, handing two tickets to Lilianna and one to Max. "Thank you. We will." Lilianna smiles, the three heading towards the hospitality lounge that they were in. "It's lovely in here." Max Verstappen smiles as Lilianna nods. "I know. Isla loves it." the girl smiles, both of them walking up while Isla runs ahead of them.

"So, what time does it begin?" Max asks, the small trio arriving at the hospitality lounge. "Kickoff is at 3. Half time will be around quarter to four." Lilianna smiles, showing her ticket to the waitress who shows them to their box. "Look at the view." Lilianna tells Max and he looks outside. "One way glass. We can see out but no-one can see in." Lilianna smiles, wrapping her arms around Max's waist. "So you Mr. World Champion are safe." Lilianna smiles, Max turning to face her and peck the girl on her lips.

"Ew. Stop." Isla's little voice says, Lilianna and Max seperating and turning to the young girl, laughing. Food arrives just before kickoff and both Lilianna and Max head outside to their seats as they're followed by Isla. "And we have the fancam in the West Stand. If you see yourself on the big screen give us a cheer and a wave." the stadium announcer says. After going through some fans, the camera lands on Lilianna, Max and Isla. "Seems like we have the two-time formula 1 world champion here accompanying Paddy McNair's younger sister and niece." the stadium announcer says. Every fan goes wild when they see Max's face on screen with Lilianna and Isla. "Come on, give us a cheeky kiss." the stadium announcer encourages Lilianna and Max.

The pair chuckle before quickly pecking each other. The fans from both the home set and away set go crazy as Lilianna and Max chuckle while Isla hides her face in her mother's leg. Lilianna and Max chuckle again as Lily pats the top of Isla's head. "It's okay baby." Lilianna crouches to Isla's height, reassuring the little girl. "Can we go inside, mummy?" Isla asks. "Of course." Lilianna smiles, heading back into the hospitality lounge.

"Do you want something to eat?" Lilianna asks Isla who immediately nods. "Yes please. Can I have a sandwich?" Isla asks, Lilianna picking her up. "Of course." the young mum smiles. After picking the sandwich that Isla wanted, Lily headed back outside with her daughter following right behind. "We're nearly ready for the start. The players are just coming out." Max smiles, Lilianna sitting beside him and Isla on his lap.
