"Rosie no. Stop. Think before you act " Sean steps in front of me "Hop in the car and let's go get Alice". I give the Vamps a look and I hop in my car. Zoe comes with us; she is in Melvin's car though. I am trying to reach Alice through the ear system, but her connection is lost. A million things pass through my mind. I try to keep the positives ones in the front of my head but the bad ones come right on and overthrow them.
"Can you find her on the tracker ?" I yell at Melvin through the ear device. I am being bitchy but that's how I get when I'm anxious.
"That's impossible...Once the system is off, everything is off Rosie...." Melvin says. I'm the one freaking out here because who knows where my best friend is. I try calling her phone while I keep my eyes on the road but I know that Chris has tried this more than a million times now. We take the road her and Beth raced on and we follow it. Zoe guides us hence she has raced here before.
Then I hear vehicles coming closer behind all of us. I know the Vamps wouldn't let us go off like that. Right now though, all I care about is Alice. We reach a road up in this steep cliff. There's all these trees and is very dark. Then ahead, on a tree, there is a car burning brightly. Alice's car. Chris is already there at the spot. We all hop out our cars. I run to where the the car is. I'm screaming and I'm crying. It is Alice's car.
"ALICE!! ALICE NO!..." My heart is so numb from beating. We go to where the passenger seat is to try and reach the driver's seat however the flames are too fierce and we can't get through. All I smell is gasoline and tree bark burning. I am hugging Chris as he tries to stop me from going inside the flames. Alice doesn't deserve to die. She has a whole family that cares for her not only that but she has a bright future. No I can't bare the fact of losing her. Not her... I walk in circles because I don't know what to do. I step on something though, I get in my knees and find small cables that we use for the ear and mic connections. I pick them up wondering how they got there.
"Look!..." Melvin says as Chris and Sean struggle to not go into ferocious fire. "There is a car up the street. I can see the head lights..." I stop everything before he says anything else and we all hop inside our cars and drive to that car. If that is Beth....If that is Beth...I will kill her with my own hands I swear. Various cars are behind us which I'm guessing are the Vamps..Of course, they were going to follow us.
We reach to the car and we hop out running. It's Beth's car. The car is empty though...
"What the hell?" I say, my face red from crying. We then hear girls struggling, as in fighting down the steep hill. It's pitch black except for the lights coming from our cars. I hear one of the girls say "You bitch!.." I instantly recognize Alice's voice. I can care less about the car because I leave everything and turn on my phone's flashlight and head down the hill with the rest.
"Be careful walking. There are snakes and poisonous stuff down here." Zoe says leading us down again. I hold Chris's hand as he helps me walk down. The fact that Alice is alive brings a soothing, calm breath to my soul. The sound of the girls arguing become louder and louder so we definitely are close. I hear running water so there is a river at the end of this hill. I stuggle to run down the hill. Branches scrape my face and arms and something boders one of my legs but I keep moving.
Once we reach them we run to stop them. However Beth is already down, badly injured...We hear rustling up the hill. The Vamps are coming down.We tell Alice that we need to get the hell out of here, and she stops arguing with Beth.
Then, Zoe tells us she knows how to get out of this creepy river bank. We start running after her.
