🎭🎭JEFF POV🎭🎭I had decided to finally announce...it. The party.
Jeff wanted to throw a nice get together for him and the "people" he's worked with for the past decades, the "people" that have helped him become who he is now. He loved his workers, and while they may not find him...as lovable back for some reason, he wanted to treat them to at least SOME KIND of gratitude.
That gratitude was not well received.
Achmed threatened means of violence, Peanut let out a childish groan, and the rest agreeded with out much fuss it seemed. Walter only said he'd go to get away from the wife, how original. The news would be spread to the rest of the guys through email. He PRAYED that his house wouldn't burn down during this whole ordeal.
🎭🎭THE PARTY🎭🎭
Jesus Christ it was painfully awkward.
It was like in those movies where two rival schools are forced to party together at the school dance to "get along" and they all just end up sitting on the sidelines, glaring at each other. Jeff watched all this tension from the punch bowl, biting his nails anxiously. He looked around the room.
Achmed was seemingly stuck having to watch Bubba J chug down baffling amounts of alcohol. Bubba J kept loudly saying "Watch this! Watch this!" while showing off how "impressive" he thought it was to drink half a bottle of vodka unfazed. It was so insane how someone so pure was so invested into something so potentially deadly. Achmed himself looked ready to explode if Bubba J so much made another childish demand for attention. And Jeff knew when Achmed exploded, he would LITERALLY explode everyone else.
Walter was seemingly trying to do his best to keep to himself and was rash to anyone who somewhat approached him.
Peanut had this very mischievous look on his face that Jeff knew all too well. Either he was planning to do something morally horrible or he already has. Why did the cutest looking of them have to be the most evil???
Jose seemed to actually be trying to socialize with coworkers he hasn't saw in a while. He was deep in convo with Sweet Daddy Dee (or as his coworkers just call him, SD) and Melvin, a guy that GENUINELY thought he was super hero. Wacko huh?? Jeff still to this day had no idea if Melvin was either mentally ill or was GENUINELY a super hero. If he was one, his powers were a lot weaker then he claimed them to be.
Finally, Jeff's eyes caught on a shadowy figure leaving the room. AJ, no doubt. The disfigured man had always never been a fan of socializing, and Jeff totally understood why. If he had someone gwaking at his face the whole time he was trying to make convo he would jump off a cliff. He then began to solemnly wonder if the man had ever had a friend before??
📖📖AJ POV📖📖
He needed to get out of that tense environment before the air compressed him into a block.
It's not like AJ had been doing much in the first place. Leaning against the wall, sloshing around his red wine in its glass as his mind wandered to all the things he could be doing right now. He could have probably reread the first Harry Potter book, rewatched the Twlight Zone, FINALLY find a match on grinder. Allas, his phone was dead. It's not like he was gonna socialize with these select...individuals. All these people knew his father weller than him, and it just didn't feel right.
When he got outside, the cool air tingled the good side of his face. The full moon was out, stars twinkling about in the sky merrily. Honestly, one of AJs favorite kinda Settings. He sat on the porch, leaning forward so his elbows were hanging off his knees limply, his wine still lazily held in his bone hand. He wouldn't have sat in there for so long if he knew this beautiful sight was sitting outside, waiting for him.
