Hermione sat in the Gryffindor common room waiting for 7 o'clock to come. She was dreading going to the dungeons to spend at least 2 hours with Snape every night. Her potion bubbling over was an accident and she was livid that he didn't understand that.

The clock reached 6:55 and she figured that she should start walking down. There were a few first years still wandering the corridors and they giggled as they passed her. This was not how she pictured coming back to school would be. After the war, Neville, Luna, Draco, and her had returned to school to finish their seventh year. Since Neville and Luna had spent most of their time in Snape's office being tortured, they decided to come back and get a proper education under McGonagall's rule.

"Why did I have to help Snape?" She whispered to herself as she walked down the staircase to the dungeons. "I should have just left him there to die."

"What was that?!" A low growl came from behind hermione that caused her to jump.

"Oh it was nothing Professor Snape" she said glaring at him.

"Oh really? I recall hearing my name mentioned and that obviously can't be nothing."

"Alright then... I'm questioning why I tried so hard to save your life last year. It obviously didn't help me gain anything. I should have just left you there."

"I see that your courage has grown in the last few hours because I know you wouldn't say that to me in class."

"Well that is a professional setting. I don't dare say those things to a teacher in their classroom, but seeing as we are just in the corridors, I'm more than willing to share my thoughts."

"You know... You've been a thorn in my side since you came here 8 years ago. The fact that you 'saved my life' as you say, is not something I particularly enjoy."

"Oh? Well then at least we are on the same page."

Hermione stated up at him with defiance then turned around and walked into the potions classroom. He followed behind her and shut the door.

"For your incompetence at potion making and your disrespect to me, you will clean every last inch of this clasroom." He took a seat behind his desk and stared at her. "I suggest you begin Miss Granger, or this will be a very long night."
