Hermione was exhausted and let her head fall roughly on the pillow after she had changed into her pajamas. She let out a deep sigh and pulled the covers up to her chest.

Severus walked out of the bathroom in his black pajamas and laid down on the bed next to her. He moved in close to her and pushed his nose into her neck causing her to giggle.

This slight happy feeling didn't last for long. She had the overwhelming feeling of worry but she didn't want Severus to know. He seemed so sure that they would be safe, but she felt differently. She knew how revenge could drive people to do anything and she didn't underestimate the Malfoys.

She was surprised to hear Severus snoring loudly beside her. He usually never fell asleep that fast but it was oddly comforting. She snuggled in closer to him and let her eyes shut slowly. There was some wind outside that helped kill her to sleep.

Hermione woke suddenly to the sound of creaking in the hallway. It was pitch black both inside and out and she searched the bedside table for her wand. She found it with the tip of her fingers and pulled it to her.

"Lumos" she whispered and the tip illuminated to a blinding level. She rubbed her eyes and looked around.

Severus had turned over and his back was facing her. She noticed the clock in the corner of the room said 2:37 and she sighed. She waited to hear another sound but she waited in silence.

In the few days that she had been here, she hadn't heard the house creak for no reason which caused butterflies to flitter in her stomach. She pulled the sheets off her legs and swung them over the side of the bed. She let her feet slide into her pair of slippers.

She moved slowly over to the door and opened it as quietly as possible. She slipped into the hall and looked from side to side trying to pull any odd shapes out of the darkness. She took a few steps towards the stairs to peer over the banister to the rooms down below. She let out a short but relieved breath when she saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"You're just paranoid Hermione." She said to herself as she turned to go back into the bedroom. When she swung around, she came face to face with a tall man who looked like he had been to hell and back. His eyes had dark circles all around them and his cheeks were sunken in. He had scars all over his face but this didn't keep him from having a large smile as he stared Hermione down.

She fought for air but couldn't find any. She let out a few gasps as he inched closer to her face. "Yaxley" she managed to get out.

"Oh my dear, I'm so delighted that you remember me. It has been too long." His hand gripped around her wand but she couldn't find the strength to fight back.

He put his arm around her waist and this caused her fight back. She brought her fist around and hit him in the jaw. When he buckled over, she ran towards the bedroom but was grabbed by two pairs of large hands. She screamed and kicked trying to free herself but she was being pulled back quickly and a hand went over her mouth.

She looked up and saw Severus crash through the door firing spells at the men standing around her. Lucius was the last to emerge from the shadows and he used a lamp to hit Severus on the back of the head.

Hermione let out a cry as she watched Severus fall to the floor unconscious. She bit at the hand covering her mouth and fought as hard as she could to get away but she was being held too hard.

Hermione began to cry as the grips on her arms got tighter. She relaxed and let her body go limp because she knew there was nothing she could do.

Lucius walked over to her slowly and put his hand under her chin. He lifted her face and bent down to be eye level with her.

"You stupid little mud blood." He snickered. "You really should have listened to me."

She pulled her face away because his breath smelled of old cheap liquor. He laughed and stood straight again. "I think it's time to take our little guests back to my house."

At that, Hermione felt herself wrenched forward. She shut her eyes tight and She was spinning in all directions but the grips on her arms never loosened. Her head was banging and she could barely breathe. As soon as it started, it had stopped.

She opened her eyes slowly. She looked around in the darkness. She gave out a cry when she realized where she was. She was pushed to the floor hard and she hit her forehead on the wood. She saw Severus laying just a few feet in front of her and she rushed to him. She moved the hair out of his face and shielded as much of him as she could with her body.

"Thorfinn... Nott," Lucius said brushing off his shirt. "Take these two down to the dungeon. Well deal with them later."

Hermione was pulled up to her feet and drug along the floor. She didn't fight, she didn't scream, she just let herself be taken. No one knew where she was. All her friends and family thought she was at Hogwarts, and all those at Hogwarts thought she was with her parents.

A single tear rolled down her cheek as she slowly muttered the words "no one is coming"

She was thrown again onto the floor, but this time it was cold stone. Severus was brought in soon after and she rest his head on her lap and she stroked his forehead. "It's no use."
