"Stop it Hermione!" She was pacing the empty bathroom. "this isn't love that you're feeling. It's.... Well I don't know what it is, but its not love."

"Having some boy troubles?" Came a giggly voice from one of the stalls. "I wish I had the problem you do."

"For Merlins sake myrtle, you scared me!"

"Of course I did. No one ever expects me to be in my own bathroom!"

"Sorry Myrtle. I'll get out of your hair." Hermione said trying to gather up her things.

"No no Hermione! Please stay! Let's talk a while. Maybe I could help you." Myrtle circled the ceiling before landing by Hermione. "You know us girls have to stick together."

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm going to have to pass. This is just a small personal problem." Hermione made her way to the door fumbling for the handle. "ill take care of it. Thanks Myrtle!"

With that, Hermione was out the door and running down the hall. As she rounded a corner, she slammed into someone and they both went tumbling backwards. Hermione looked up and saw a black mass struggling to get up.

"Oh my god! I'm so so sorry!" Hermione quickly stood and grabbed the arm of the person trying to stand. When she helped them to their feet, she looked in his face and hers went white.

"You really need to stop running into me Miss Granger. It's awfully rude." Snape brushed the dust off his arms and stared at her. "Now why do you look as if a teacher just gave you an A- on an essay?"

"I'm really sorry sir. I didn't mean... well I wasn't...um..." Hermione just stared at him. She didn't notice the blood that was running down her arm. She must have sliced her elbow on something sharp on her way down.

"Let me see your arm."

"What?"

"Your arm," he gently took her right arm in his hands and examined it. "Did you really not feel this?"

"I um... I guess not."

"Well since you are out past hours, and Madame Pomfrey is most likely asleep," he paused a moment and looked at her and she examined her own arm. She flinched when he touched the cut. "Follow me to my classroom and we will get you patched up."

Hermione didn't want to be around him. She was hoping that she wouldn't have been caught after she spent some extra hours after he excused her to freely roam the castle. "I'd really just prefer to go to Madame Pomfrey."

"You will not disturb her. It's 11:30 at night and she is no doubt asleep. Now follow me to the dungeons or I will gladly send you on your way with a hefty amount of points taken from your house."

Hermione sighed and lowered her head.

"That's what I thought."

She followed him down the dark corridors and into the dungeons.

"Just my luck" she thought to herself. "The one night I get excused from detention, and I end up with him after hours anyways."
