Hermione pulled her coat tighter around her neck as she followed Severus into the tree line.

The moon was providing little light because of clouds that were slowly forming overhead so they both had their wands lit in front of them.

The cold December evening was not a pleasant one. There was no snow on the ground which was making the cold seem worse because there was nothing good coming from it. Hermione loved this time of year but only when there was snow.

"Severus?" Hermione trailed behind him slightly.

"Hmm?"

"Why are you so against having an auror with you? Wouldn't it make you feel safer?"

"My dear, I don't know if you have noticed, but I prefer my privacy."

"What?" She exclaimed with large amounts of sarcasm "I think my entire opinion towards you has changed with this shocking new revelation!" She laughed as he glared at her.

"Well I'm glad I amuse you. Now hurry up, we don't have all night."

Hermione ran up to his side and gently slipped her hand into his. He hesitated for a moment before her let his fingers intertwine with hers. "If it makes you feel any better, I have one too."

"What?"

"An auror assigned to me"

"What on earth for?"

"Oh really Severus, you can't be that thick! I'm part of the 'golden trio'" she cringed a little at this title. She did not like being known for that. "I'm a third of the reason they were sent to azkaban."

Severus only sighed and tighten his grip around her small hand.

They walked deeper into the forest which made Hermione huddle closer to Severus. She jumped at every sound that came causing Severus to chuckle to himself.

They reached a clearing where there were some bushes covered in blood red berries. A large bottle made an appearance from Severus' cloak. He handed his lighted wand to Hermione and she held still as he bent over to pick a large amount of the berries.

Once he was done, the jar disappeared back into his infamous black cloak. "Shall we return?" He stuck out his arm for her but she smiled and blushed a little. "What?"

"You do realize this will be our last time alone together for the foreseeable future?"

He had a blank expression on his face as though nothing had exited her mouth.

"Severus, I want you to kiss me." She smiled "because I don't know when we'll be able to kiss again."

He looked down at her and smiled. He brought his lips to hers and she quickly threw her arms around his neck.

His hands went to the small of her back pulling her as close to him as possible. They both dropped their illuminated wands and held each other.

Their tongues intertwined and she let his explore her mouth gently. He tasted like black coffee, and even though she hated black coffee she loved this, because it was him.

"Hermione," he pulled away slightly before she put a finger to his lips and whispered "I swear to god Severus snape, if you ruin this moment, I'll kill you."

He gave a low pur and buried his face in her neck. He bit her softly causing her to laugh. She ran her fingers through his hair and he made his way down to her chest. He carefully began to unbutton her coat and slide it off her exposing her bare arms to the cold December air.

Hermione took a sharp inhale and pulled Severus' face up to hers. She placed her forehead against his. "I'm sorry. But it's too cold."

"Now who's the one ruining the moment?" He smirked reaching down and grabbing her coat.

He placed a firm kiss on her lips before taking her hand. "Back to castle."

She leaned into him and whispered "back to the castle."
