Unavoidable Attraction

The Wedding part 2

Hermione took a deep breath inhaling all the fresh air as her father helped her step out of the doors into Hogwarts. She was smiling ear to ear as she looked down the path to the lake where people were sitting and talking excitedly not yet realizing that she was on her way down.

Severus noticed her and couldn't pull his gaze away for a single second. They stared at each other with the same amount of love that they have always shared.

There was quiet music playing as professor McGonagall motioned for everyone to stand. They all turned to look at her and smiled. She looks absolutely breathtaking. She walked down the aisle making sure to give all the guests a warm welcoming nod, but then her eyes met Ron's.

He looked at her with eyes full of sadness and anger and his hands were clench in front of him. Once their eyes met, he turned his gaze to the side and she continued on. In this moment of disappointment, she turned to look again at Severus, and everything else around her just melted away. The only thing that mattered at this moment was the two of them.

She reached Severus' side and her father gave her a kiss on the cheek before placing her hand into Severus' then taking a seat next to his wife.

Hermione stared into Severus' eyes as everyone sat down and Professor McGonagall began to speak.

She talked about how their relationship was unexpected, but she had never seen two people more in love than they were.

"These two people have faced so much opposition not only against their relationship, but against themselves personally. They have had more struggles than anyone should have, which makes them more perfect for each other because they will be able to help each other as the effects of these struggles linger."

A slight breeze picked up and it felt amazing. This day was perfect in every way.

"Now I would invite Severus and Hermione to say their vows which they have written themselves. Severus?"

Severus cleared his throat and looked at Hermione lovingly. She knew how much he hated showing emotion in public but this time was different. This time, it was for her.

"Hermione, I never knew I could truly love someone until you became a large part of my life. You understand many things that I am going through and that allows you to be the most amazing women I've met. You and I have not had it easy. We had everything come at us that should have torn us apart, but you managed to keep us together. You ground me and make me a better man. I promise that I will never leave you alone. I promise that whatever happens, you will always come first. And I promise that I will try my hardest to help you create the life that you have always envisioned for yourself, because you are now my life."

Hermione already had tears running down her face as he ended with a large smile. It was so unlike him, but he was genuine.

Professor McGonagall nodded to Hermione and she rubbed her eyes before starting.

"Severus, I love you. You are the one person who I've really loved. You make my life a better one to live. We have gone through things that no one should ever have to go through, but you don't let my scars, whether they be physical or emotional, scare you away. You have been a light in a confusing time of my life. You have been the most supportive person in my decisions and you have helped me get to where I want to be. I promise that we will make all of our decisions together instead of me being an insufferable know it all." Everyone laughed at this especially Severus. "I promise that I will never let you walk alone again. I promise that no matter what happens to us, you will always be first." She smiled and squeezed his hands tightly as she watched tears well up in his eyes but he didn't let fall.

They exchanged their rings and were pronounced man and wife where they kissed each other gently then walked down the aisle for the first time as Mr and Mrs Severus Snape.

They had a beautiful reception in the great hall where all their friends danced and ate and drank while Severus and Hermione looked on. Severus hated dancing but allowed Hermione their first dance and a couple more before he returned o a table to sit and watch her dance with her father and friends.

As the night went on, Hermione grew tired and went to sit next to her husband and lay her head on his shoulder. They were finally going to bring their lives together and it was the perfect day for it.

She looked around the room and noticed Ron sitting at a table pushing his fork into a slice a cake but never taking a bite. She went over by him and sat down but looked at the other guests.

"I haven't seen your parents this happy since bill and Fleur's wedding. They sure do love to dance."

Ron didn't react. He just sat there but was listening to Hermione intently.

"I heard you're climbing up in the auror department. You're going to be running the place soon if you don't slow down. I had to hear if from Ginny because you rarely speak to me anymore. Why is that? We used to be closer than ever."

"Because you married this rat."

His response took Hermione back. "Excuse me?"

"What was all that shite about him being the only person you've loved. You told me you loved me all the time."

"Well Ron I thought I did."

"Thought. I only came to this stupid wedding because mum made me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go home because I would hate to be around the dungeon bat any longer." After that he apparated quickly which hurt Hermione but she wasn't going to let it get to her. It was her day and nothing was going to destroy that for her.

As guest began to leave and say their goodbyes, Hermione sighed and pulled her veil out of her hair and threw off her shoes. They were completely alone in the great hall and Severus wrapped his hands around her waist. "One more dance?"

Hermione giggled and put her hands around his neck and swayed back and forth to the soft music. "Now Mrs. Snape, now that the party is over, I propose that I take you down to our room and get you out of the gorgeous but awfully annoying dress you have on." Hermione laughed and put her head on his chest.

"Severus, I'm so happy. We now have our whole lives together."

He placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head and inhaled her scent.

"I love you Hermione"

"And I love you Severus"

I have decided that there will be a sequel, but I need a little break (not too long though).
