Beidou's ship/Chapter 17

When he woke up the next day, he was in a better mood. He had forgotten about Kazuha and his confusion, he was back to being himself. His thoughts were calm and he didn't spend hours thinking about the whole situation.
He felt better like this, he went to do his work in the Yashiro Commission. He was a puppet after all, he couldn't spend time thinking about things he couldn't understand.
As he got home, he saw Kazuha in the distance, he was smiling again. Scaramouche noticed his presence....

"Oh! Hello Scara! What are you doing here?"

"Hm? Oh, you know, just doing my job."
He tried to sound as disinterested as possible, yet here was Kazuha again, always smiling and looking so happy to see him. How could he be so... so carefree and nice all the time?
He watched Kazuha walking and smiling, as if nothing happened. He had been so mean to him the other day, yet Kazuha didn't seem to care.
"I thought I told you to leave me alone. Aren't you upset with me? Aren't you annoyed by all my rudeness?"

Kazuha laughs a little bit. "No, silly, I'm not upset with you."

His face went blank, he couldn't believe that he wasn't upset with him. He tried to sound as emotionless as possible as he responded.
"How can you not be upset?"
He did sound irritated, he wanted Kazuha to feel the way he felt when people were insensitive to him. But he saw nothing happening, Kazuha kept smiling and looking happy.
"I'm just asking what is going on in your mind..."
He had no idea how to deal with Kazuha, he wanted to make him angry, but he just couldn't figure out how.

"Well, I've already told you this yesterday, I'm not upset because you're only being yourself. Look Scara, after you work, can you go with me to Beidou's ship? She wanted to talk to you."

He was shocked. He knew he couldn't say no, even if he didn't want to go with Kazuha, Beidou would have been angry. But still, he kept that cold voice, even if it wasn't as effective anymore.
"I don't have time for this. What could Beidou want to speak to me about?"
Of course, he knew the answer. He just wanted to make Kazuha feel bad. But Kazuha kept that happy smile on his face, his eyes shining with a bright light and he had an innocent expression on his face.

"Oh come on Scara! You won't be doing this for me, you will be doing this for Beidou, she said she really wanted to see you and talk to you."

"Fine... but I'm only going because it's Beidou's request. I'm not going because it's you."
He tried to sound so arrogant and mean, but he just couldn't. Kazuha's smile was still here, he just didn't know how to deal with it.
"See you later, we'll go to Beidou's ship, as you wish."
He knew it sounded like a lie, especially since Kazuha knew him as the annoying guy. He was just going to see Beidou because he had to, not because he wanted to.

"Thank you, Scara!" Kazuha smiled as he walked away.

Later, Scaramouche went with Kazuha to see Beidou. He was still feeling slightly puzzled by Kazuha's kindness, but he didn't think about much while they went to her ship.

Beidou was sitting on the main deck as they arrived, she looked calm and relaxed. She was looking at the sea and then she finally saw them and smiled at them.
"Ah, there you are Kazuha, I was waiting for you! Welcome, Scaramouche!"
She sounded so excited, he was still surprised by that.

"Hello, Beidou, hopefully you're feeling fine! Scara is here, what do you wanna talk about with him?"

"Come here, Scaramouche, I want to ask you something."
Beidou got up and went to them. She still had a relaxed face and she was smiling, like everything was fine in her mind.
"I want to hear your real opinion on me."
